55,000 Connecticut citizens to lose their health plans
Finding out what’s in it: Because of Obamacare, tens of thousands in Connecticut are expected to lose their health plans this year.
For about the past week or so, health insurance broker Stephen Hunt has been getting phone calls from unhappy clients. “They just keep building up and up and up and up and up,” Hunt said.
The calls are coming from clients who have been notified by their insurer that their policy expires at year’s end and most will have to purchase plans with much higher premiums and much higher deductibles, he said. “We’re not talking about a minor difference in premium. We’re talking about a mortgage payment difference in premium for a lot of people,” Hunt said.
How can this be? Obama and the Democratic Party promised us that under Obamacare, “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Period.” They couldn’t have been so stupid as to propose a law that would do exactly the opposite of what they promised, could they? They wouldn’t lie, would they?

Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.
In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

The next in a long line of continuing outrageous over reach’s by this administration:

When will it end? When the American people have had enough.
And they keep coming up with excuses for the economy not improving.
I was listening to a program yesterday talking about renting vs owning, they couldn’t figure why people aren’t buying homes.
They should look at this.
The main reason that the economy is not really improving and what the media and the talking heads will not report or have an opinion on is called “president Barak Husain Obama”. That is the main reason the economy can not and will not improve, and it is because he exudes no confidence.
The only thing that I am sure about him (besides his constant racist pandering to the black population) is that he is the personification of the sixties radical, the sixties radical is based in Marxism and Marxism is contrary to our Constitution and America.
The leader of America is a philosophical Marxist, lets call him an American flavor of Marxism and based in that knowledge the economy can not improve until his time in office has ended.
I need to say here related to my previous comment that at the time BHO was elected, although I did not support him (because I did my research on him and was not hobbled by emotion, not that the Republicans were offering a suitable representative) I was proud that the American people were able to in many instances look past race and elect a person of color to the highest office in America and the most powerful position on the planet. That really blew me away. That being said on balance BHO has not risen to the occasion and become more than he is he is only what he is. He is not “the American” president he is only the “first black president” who has by his own strategic choice saddled himself with the likes of Al Sharpton. That’s how desperate he has become in his most powerful position. Sad, sad, sad.
How disappointing that our politics in America has laid us so low, lets be optimistic that this moment in American history will serve a positive purpose and not serve to further destroy us. But let us not be naive.
Not a single person will not be covered by insurance.
As long as they pay the premium. No matter the cost.
You know what? I would never have expected higher costs and forced acceptance from a law written by the insurance companies. They care so much about us how could they ever try to squeeze the people like this?
The left has been bought and paid for by the insurance industry. Because they care.
I dislike heath insurance personally.
It allows the costs of services to rise faster than they would in a market paid for just by the patient.
And it reduces services to the patients in order to work a profit out of the new imbalanced system.
The only company making real profits off of the medical field in the insurance industry.
The patient pays for it.
The patients company pays for it.
The patients company pays for state mandated insurance in several forms. Health and unemployment.
The doctors pay for insurance.
The hospitals pay for insurance.
The suppliers pay for insurance.
The equipment manufacturers pay for insurance.
All because of this people feel free to charge the insurance companies the highest amounts possible for services.
If patients had to pay, the charges would be FAR FAR lower. Down at reasonable amounts.
Insurance is the spreading of risk over a group / population and calculating the cost including a reasonable profit for the insurer. Obamacare has nothing to do with insurance.
And you are very correct about what drives the increased costs.
Cotour has this one right. Obama is the obstacle in our economy.
Under normal circumstances, under free market, capitalist, American circumstances, 1% Fed interest rates would have been enough to stimulate our economy. There is only one other time in history in which the Fed has had to resort to a 1% rate — a rate that once was considered by the Fed to be as low as they should ever go, a panic rate, because if they take rates to 0%, then they have nowhere to go. All other times, the American economy has recovered nicely at rates above 1%.
The idea is that it becomes so easy to borrow, the interest rates are so low, that businesses choose to expand. That didn’t happen. By the time the banks stopped being afraid to lend money, businesses had become afraid to borrow money, fearing that their expenses would dramatically increase due to Obama’s policies and regulations.
As it is, Obama had talked-down the economy so much — and created policies and regulations (especially ObamaCare) that hampered business so much (just as the Japanese did, and they went from a booming economy to a stagnant one ever since) — that the Fed went beyond panic rates, going to 0%. Even that failed to stimulate the economy, so the Fed started “printing” money, going *beyond* beyond panic, theoretically making it even easier to borrow. Even *that* failed to stimulate the economy.
Under free-market capitalism (which Bush abandoned in order to save it — talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water — and I am *still* waiting for it to be saved), the economy should be *BOOMING* in ways that have never been seen before. Instead, the economy can barely keep up with inflation (just as with the Japanese economy).
And now the government is borrowing money that unborn children will have to pay back for decades through higher taxes. Talk about taxation without representation!
What a cluster.
