Readers!

The time has come for my annual short Thanksgiving/Christmas fund drive for Behind The Black. I must do this every year in order to make sure I have earned enough money to pay my bills.

For this two-week campaign, I am offering a special deal to encourage donations. Donations of $200 will get a free autographed copy of the new paperback edition of Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, while donations of $250 will get a free autographed copy of the new hardback edition. If you desire a copy, make sure you provide me your address with your donation.

As I noted in July, the support of my readers through the years has given me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Real pushback: Thirteen university-run child mutilation clinics to shut down this year

Owned for the purpose of mutilation and castration
Up to now, government-controlled apparently to allow their
mutilation and castration

Bring a gun to a knife fight: Because of pressure from state legislatures, up to thirteen university-run child mutilation clinics — falsely called “gender-affirming clinics” — are to shut down before the end of this year, with more shut downs likely next year as well.

Up to 13 pediatric gender clinics at university hospitals could close or scale back by the end of the year, as a result of Republican-led states restricting doctors from removing healthy organs or injecting hormones into minors who are confused about their gender.

In some cases, university youth gender clinics have already scaled back their operations as a result of state law. Litigation against the legislation could slow down or stop some clinics from closing. However, some are being closed while litigation proceeds.

The closures represent a quick change from just a year ago when The College Fix identified at least thirteen Republican-led states that funded pediatric gender clinics through universities, including Oklahoma, Florida and West Virginia.

The article at the link then details the closures one-by-one, linking those closures with actions by the state legislatures to either outlaw or severely limit such barbaric medical procedures. As has almost always the case, all but one of the legal actions taken by legislatures simply banned or limited these procedures. Funding to the universities or health facilities continued unabated. The big profits these vile institutions were making cutting up little kids would cease or become significantly reduced, but they would experience no pain for engaging in such despicable behavior in the past.

Only South Carolina has so far addressed this behavior by cutting the funding of these institutions.

Legislators in South Carolina stopped the Medical University of South Carolina from using taxpayer dollars for transgender drugs and surgeries on individuals under 16 years of age last year, according to a statement provided to The Fix in 2022. The 2022-23 budget prompted MUSC to close its pediatric gender clinic at the end of last year. The same provision is in the 2023-24 budget approved on June 14, 2023.

The law is very clear. The Medical University can use zero funds for such operations or any treatments to children that encourages sexual transition.

While more states have to take such firm action, it is still insufficient. It is unconscionable that some doctors nationwide have decided it is a good thing to cut up and mutilate little kids. They should face some punishment for such acts.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Parent(s) wanting their children to ‘transition’ should do it first.

Children can not get a tooth filled without a parents permission.
A child can not vote until 18.
A child can not go to war until 18.
A child can not smoke or drink until 21.

Why do people think children can decide on abortions and sex changes at 10?

As for abortions. Not forcing testimony and gathering dna evidence from the womb against the father only protects the father(rapist).
The excuse “I was raped” should be followed up with evidence to protect those potential future victims.

As for sex changes. they should never happen before 18 and should always be proceeded by a good serious mental evaluation so no mistakes are made.

Thanks for updates on this important topic Robert. Few are talking about child mutilation and how it ruins children’s lives making them sterile, lifelong pain found only in elderly like joint and muscle pain and bleeding from the uterus, not to mention those freakish non-functioning Frankenstein “penises” they stitch together from skin removed from the girl’s arms.

Life destroying decisions that as children they were counseled to make that they couldn’t possibly grasp what it meant are now as young adults suing those doctors and counselors. That will help expose the evil horrors of what these leftists are doing to children and hurt them in their wallets.

It is good the Republican legislatures are exercising their power of the purse. In a related story, see the cut of the University of Wisconsin DEI budget by the Republican controlled legislature. It is an ongoing fight against the democrat governor. Will be interesting to see how it turns out..

This might be behind a pay wall. If so, just look it up on the duck.

  • Bob Wilson: We mustn’t be fooled by this budget move. We must be vigilant, and demanding. Though it is good the Republicans cut the budget, too often they start their negotiations with the low number, not the high. They should always demand gigantic cuts, and force the Democrats to negotiate to an even lower number.

It appears in Wisconsin they only partly did this, starting from a somewhat okay bid but quickly negotiating down. They could have still acted with more force.

“A child can not vote until 18.
A child can not go to war until 18.
A child can not smoke or drink until 21.”

And now they can’t even get a sex change. Won’t someone think of the children?
