Starlink service scheduled for South Korea later this year
SpaceX will begin offering Starlink service in South Korea by the spring of this year.
The article, from a South Korea news outlet, is generally negative about Starlink’s possibilities, mostly because its cost is much higher than that already available with coverage that includes 80% of the country. Nonetheless, Starlink will still be an option to those regions not yet served.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

South Korea is just thaaaaaaaat close to north Korea,
Now if we can just sneak a few dishes into NK.
John Kerry mentioned SpaceX in a WEF speech that they will use SpaceX ???
“We modelled it somewhat on the experience on what happened with vaccines, the government said ‘we’ll pay for it, build it,’ and the same thing with SpaceX, if you build it we are going to use it and we’ll pay for it.
“People who were putting capital at risk knew that they could get a return on that capital or at least cover their expenses in the case of something like vaccines, where human life was so at risk. Well, human life is at risk now in the context of the challenges of the global climate crisis,” Kerry warned”
Human life is at risk… Therefore you need to sacrifice your cars, meat, heating and cooling your homes… all to prevent 1 1/2° global warming from CO2 which will destroy the world…. NOT!
We have “saved the world” before using this method of thought and logic, was not the world saved by throwing virgins in volcanoes? Sacrificing their first born to beelzebub? Burning witches? And let’s not forget the great sacrifice that we owe to the Aztecs and Mayans for 1000 years sacrificing their slaves so that the sun would come up every day! They did their part to save the world, now it’s our turn…
What/who are you willing to sacrifice? (and you thought sacrificing the world economy by shutting down was enough… Just the beginning!) as the world economy collapses, life savings evaporating, property rights as well as personal rights including the right to your own body are going away… (If you do not own your own body, you own nothing….) and you’ll be made to praise your masters for your happiness… Big brother AI is watching you.
