Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Today’s blacklisted American: David Horowitz Freedom Center banned from Breakers hotel in Florida

The new dark age of silencing: The Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida has banned the conservative David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC) from holding an event there, despite the fact that it has allowed such an event every year without problems for the past twenty years.

The reason?

“After a 20-year relationship with The Breakers resort, the Freedom Center was informed that we would no longer be allowed to have our annual Restoration Weekend event at the resort due to the Center being too controversial,” DHFC President Michael Finch told The Epoch Times. [emphasis mine]

The hotel claims the ban isn’t because of politics, but because the “logistical and operational requirements” of holding the annual event had become more complex. While the hotel was not specific, its statement strongly implied that the increased cost of security against leftist threats of violence caused it to cancel the contract.

In other words, the hotel endorses the heckler’s veto. Threaten violence against someone who disagrees with you and The Breakers will bend over backwards to silence that speaker for you.

I would say that anyone planning to visit Palm Beach should celebrate The Breakers new policy of cowardice and find some other hotel to stay at. It certainly seems that this hotel really isn’t interested in protecting conservatives from violence. It would rather ban them from existence.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Sad to see a hate group facing consequences for their actions. :(

In more government sponsored terrorism the Kenosha government is moving pallets of bricks into place for peaceful protesters to use when peacefully protesting the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.

  • Jimmy, you apparently define “hate” as a refusal to submit to the condescending arrogance of our elites, who define submission as our sole responsibility … and denigrate our capabilities as ordinary individuals, as though we are “imbeciles, infants or domestic animals” as C. S. Lewis once described how such busybodies view us.

Identity politics is a stalking horse for authoritarian rule … which is the blind, leading the blinded.

Jester, do you even know what that group is? A quick google search leads to their Wikipedia page which states:

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has described the Center as a far-right organization and anti-Muslim hate group. According to Horowitz, the SPLC’s designation of his conservative think tank as a hate group resulted in his Freedom Center’s donation processing system being blocked by Visa and Mastercard.

Chip Berlet, writing for the SPLC, accused Horowitz of blaming slavery on “black Africans … abetted by dark-skinned Arabs” and of “attack[ing] minority ‘demands for special treatment’ as ‘only necessary because some blacks can’t seem to locate the ladder of opportunity within reach of others,’ rejecting the idea that they could be the victims of lingering racism.”

In a 2011 report authored by Wajahat Ali, Eli Clifton, Matthew Duss, Lee Fang, Scott Keyes and Faiz Shakir of the Center for American Progress cited Horowitz as a prominent figure instrumental in demonizing Islam and spreading fear about an Islamic takeover of Western society.Horowitz responded, saying that the Center had “joined the Muslim Brotherhood”.

The Anti-Defamation League wrote that Horowitz sponsors a college campus project that promotes anti-Muslim views and arranges events with anti-Muslim activists. The DHFC was also a sponsor of the May 3, 2015, Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest in Garland, Texas, where two Muslim terrorist attackers were shot and killed by a school security guard.

I’m not saying believe that, but there’s plenty to go on there for further research. Come on, put a little effort in to it!

  • I’ve known of Horowitz and his organizations for years. He is only a “hater” in the eyes of those who see their socialist way as the One True Way … that they are the Virtuous Normal standing against the Evil Other … and trash him because he interferes with their efforts to impose that upon us.

You shouldn’t just believe what you read, especially on Wikipedia … OTOH, perhaps you should search out the reports in recent years how the SPLC has degenerated from a champion of civil rights to just another corrupt stalking horse of the Left.

A quick DuckDuckGo search on – SPLC scandals – brings up several of the reports, from left, right, and libertarian angles.

BTW the points Horowitz makes in those quotes have a basis in actual fact … no matter how much you may want to believe in the systemic-racism narrative.

It is the Left, for all practical purposes, that cares about skin color as such a determinative characteristic of one’s ability to get through life.

As for me, Bob, Horowitz and others on the Right and in libertarian circles, it’s safe to say that

    …. we oppose white supremacy
    …. we oppose white submission
…. we make it about INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY.
…. and we will FIGHT LIKE HELL to defend it.

(you probably know all this all ready, since you’re likely the same True Believer that’s shown up to spread FUD under different names … am I right, Jimmy/Eddie/Sonny?)

  • Jester Naybor: Bingo! I hadn’t thought of checking until you mentioned it, but Jimmie Page and Eddie Munster have the same IP address. They are the same person, who has been lying about who he is and using different names to make it seem that there are others who agree with him. There aren’t.

I think such lying serves a time out. Jimmie Page/Eddie Munster: You are suspended for a week. If you choose to return you will need to pick one of those two names, and use it consistently. I will be moderating you and will ban you if you try this again.

Oh man! Banned from this little group of old guys who are looking for others to validate their sad worldview? Hah, ok.

Honestly, not trying to pull a fast one over on y’all. I’m just terrible at remembering names. My husband says I’m becoming a forgetful old lady. Maybe he’s right. I didn’t have to use other names to trick you into thinking you’re in the minority opinion, it’s obvious you are. That’s why you seek refuge in a forum like this. You’re afraid of a lot of things. Including the fact that the good old days you think you remember are not coming back.
