March 20, 2026 Quick space links
Courtesy of BtB’s stringer Jay. The last link also comes from reader Gary. This post is also an open thread. I welcome my readers to post any comments or additional links relating to any space issues, even if unrelated to the links below.
- K2 Space has shipped its first demo satellite, called Gravitas, to the launch site
The satellite is aimed at producing a lot of power, 20 kilowatts of electricity, for a variety of customers, including the proposed data center constellations.
- Portal Space Systems and Paladin Space partner to launch commercial orbiting debris removal service
Starlab has signed a letter of intent to use it, should the partnership demonstrate it can do what it promises
- Meteorite hunters scour Ohio for fragments of 7-ton space rock that crashed into Earth
Two pieces apparently have already been found, with one spotted by someone near their garage as they leaving for work.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

This video is a nice 7 minute summary of some of China’s problems.
When Trump talked about “Draining the Swamp” during his campaign I thought he meant the leftists in the U.S. But Trump is reorganizing the whole world to destroy Marxism around the world. Primarily by cutting them off from feeding off the American people which is the only way their socialism / communism worked. Canada is really in a world of hurt and in total denial.
China’s President Xi Jinping has long used the phrase “the East is rising, the West is on the decline”, but the Chinese people are now seeing that’s a lie.
“China’s Rise Has Been Planned for Decades but Things Aren’t Going Well [VIDEO]”

James Street noted: “When Trump talked about “Draining the Swamp” during his campaign I thought he meant the leftists in the U.S. But Trump is reorganizing the whole world to destroy Marxism around the world.”
Actions where the cheers of the oppressed are drowning out the victim-seeking Left. Without victimhood; actual or induced, the Left has no power base. There are for-real oppressed peoples, but as many have noted, the ‘soft’ power, and considered responses, haven’t been effective in reducing that oppression. Indeed, those approaches have measurably contributed to the facilitation of Evil. It seems that politically, technically, and militarily, the United States is seizing a moment in time; and doing so in keeping with the Founding Principles. The People are the drivers here, and Trump is giving The People what people everywhere want: the freedom to create a secure, safe, and predictable place to live and do business, as the People see fit.
Besides, as many have told me, and I agree, it was worth voting for Trump, just to watch the fireworks.
