Today’s blacklisted American: The American flag
The American flag: Banned by the NAACP.
The local NAACP chapter at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) was badly triggered over Memorial Day weekend by the horrible sight of an American flag hanging from the end of a crane’s cable at a university construction site, and demanded the cable and flag be removed.
The NAACP claimed that what really upset them was the standard cable loop just below the flag at the end of the cable, which they immediately assumed was a noose!
Ronald Davis, president of the New Britain NAACP, told FOX 61 that “Regardless of what someone else says about that, what I see, as a black man? That’s a noose. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Take it down.”
But one intrepid College Fix reader noticed there are several steel cable loops hanging from the crane, and the only one that appears to bother another is the one with the American flag on the end of it. He cites one image of the crane in which viewers can see three or four cable loops.
“I guess they noticed only the one holding the flag, which means that it’s the flag that triggers them,” the reader said. [emphasis mine]
It is clear that because he and the NAACP specifically focused on the one loop where the American flag hung tells us what really offended them. They really wanted the American flag removed. And I am sure if they had their way it would be banned forever.
Moreover, the absurdity and obsessiveness of Davis and the NAACP over loops in cables is almost pathological. Are we to ban all loops at all construction sites? Shall firemen be forbidden to tie such loops in ropes in their effort to rescue people? Can no loops ever again be used in any context?
The insanity of this is beyond belief.
Even more insane was the instantaneous obsequiousness of the university’s administration when they got this ludicrous complaint.
“Early this evening, we received a complaint about a possible noose found hanging from a construction site on the CCSU campus. Campus Police … investigated and found that it was not a noose but a standard steel cable loop hanging from a crane,” wrote President Zulma Toro in an email to the campus community on Saturday night.
“A construction crew working on campus hung an American flag from the crane’s cable to recognize Memorial Day,” added Toro in her email, a copy of which was obtained by The College Fix.
…“Quite frankly, I think it is reckless and tone deaf behavior,” Toro said in her email to the campus. “We have been in contact with the construction company and demanded that the cable be lowered tonight. We have a team on site tonight monitoring the situation.”
What Toro should have done was to laugh and tell the NAACP to go get a life. Instead she wasted everyone’s time trying to find someone to remove the cable, which of course is impossible because to do its work the crane cable must have loops.
That any effort was also made to remove the American flag, on Memorial Day weekend no less, was utterly obscene. Of all flags ever flown, this flag symbolizes more than any other freedom and the end to slavery and racial discrimination. The U.S. fought a war to end slavery, twice sent its young men to Europe to free them from tyranny, and waged a half-century-long Cold War against the tyranny of the Soviet Union. To express hatred of that flag indicates a remarkable ignorance of history and the noble effort of Americans to bring freedom to millions.
But don’t worry. This ignorance and madness is far from over. Too many Americans now jump in fear when these bigoted and uneducated race hustlers scream orders at them. Expect far worse examples of this bullying and banning as these petty dictators feel their muscles and make increasingly horrible and idiotic demands.
Finally, are you or your children attending Central Connecticut State University? If so, you might reconsider this school as a place to learn anything. Its administration is clearly ignorant of history as well as quite willing to bow to the most absurd demands from race hustlers.
Connecticut voters might also want to contact their state legislature. This university is publicly funded, and appears to not necessarily be a wise investment for those tax dollars.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.
In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Loop, noose, whatever. It’s not about what it actually IS, it’s about what it makes me FEEL.
I lost an uncle in WW2 (Leroy Smith, a Parachute Infantry Scout with the 11th Airborne Division) and I thank those construction workers for remembering my family’s sacrifice.
As far as the NAACP goes, my thoughts are so unprintable that if I wrote and posted them, Bob would ban me for life
For all practical purposes … it’s only Democrats who care about skin color.
After all, there are so few actual white supremacists out there, that Democrats have to create artificial hate crimes to meet their demand for them … you could say that they are Impossible Whoppers of Hate.
Triggered: “Occurring in response to a stimulus typically perceived as negative or harmful”.
Perception: “: A result of perceiving : OBSERVATION. A mental image : CONCEPT”.
Perceived: “Regarded in a specified way —used to say how something or someone is seen or thought of”.
The Left and the Democrat leadership must infantilize and emotionalize black Americans. And they must manufacture a degree of constant fear in both white and black Americans. And violence is a part of that strategy.
They offer no solution, only fear and division. And any individual or organization that would dare see black Americans in a respectful and adult manner they must be destroyed because that threatens the only thing that the Left and the Democrat party leadership has to maintain their power.
All they have is pushing eternal fear and teaching racism and retribution. How dark and sad for humanity. How dark and sad for the black Americans who are taken in by their dark, desperate need to control them. Sick really.
The Left and the Democrat party leadership insist that everyone live in the darkest hole of history, when reality is based in learning from history and moving into the future. Two very different things and two very different realities.
And in their desperation and darkness they will lose the power that they desperately need, and they can see that potential materializing as all of their fraud, corruption and treachery is being revealed for all but the most unconscious and indoctrinated to see.
And that makes them more dangerous today than ever before.
I would like to add: The Republican leadership also needs the black population to remain in a condition of unrest, fear and anger. The both party leaderships IMO like the status quo. It where they live and are comfortable.
And they really both must be cleaned out, recast and reformulated.
Let us not be naive.
I just hope the construction workers were true Americans and told them to go pound salt. I am a US Army veteran and my family lost my great uncle on Iwo Jima.
When you wear racism colored glasses that is all you see every where you look.
My family lost a son, brother, cousin, uncle, great uncle in WW2. I would like to thank the skilled tradesmen and construction workers who took the time let that beautiful flag wave in rememberence of those who gave up their lives for the ignorant and narrowed minded Neanderthal thinkers of today.

YOU, TRUTH, YOUR COUNTRY: “NOT WORTH A CAN OF WORMS”.
The Lab-Leak Theory: Inside the Fight to Uncover COVID-19’s Origins | Vanity Fair
“DiNanno wrote that staff from two bureaus, his own and the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, ‘warned’ leaders ‘not to pursue an investigation into the origin of COVID-19’ because it would ‘open a can of worms’ if it continued.”
You have lost all objectivity and ability to think rationally as an American if:
* You stood by, said nothing and allowed free speech to be controlled by biased, Left leaning media and social media corporations for political gains.
* You stood by, said nothing and allowed the borders of America to be left wide open and flooded with illegals for political gains.
* You stood by, said nothing and allowed the politically empowered to actively promote racism for political gains.
* You call yourself a civil libertarian and allowed the muzzling of a segment of America and their free speech because it served your political gains.
* You allow and still defend those in government leadership who are clearly lying and attempting to deceive America and the world about the structure and origins of a deadly virus ravaging the planet.
* You recognize that government is the problem but have a problem with verifying the honest results of any election in America at any time.
You are the problem, you are the enemy of your, my and everyone else’s interests.
I respectfully ask you to reconsider your now clearly broken political perspective.

Candidly, I can see no path for interaction with the left. Conditions simply don’t exist, and no effort is forthcoming from them except abject surrender.
Long ago, I took an oath protect and defend my Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That oath has no expiration. I have from the outset worked toward a political resolution, understanding that defense of my Constitution doesn’t always mean grabbing a rifle. The left sure is pushing toward a violent rather than political solution judging from their actions, though.
Guess it will come down to “what happens, happens.” But I WILL defend my country however necessary.
Remember the NASCAR flap? Someone put a loop (probably a bowline, NOT a ”hangman‘s noose“) in the door rope, most likely to help shorter folks pull down the door! If you want to know how to tie a hangman noose, just ask a democrat; the KKK used them to murder the first southern Republican legislators & later black people in general.
A “WOKE”, “PROGRESSIVE”, LIBERAL FRIEND RESPONDS TO MY EMAIL TODAY
Him: “What are you doing in response to these issues?”
Me: “I am bringing them to the attention of the people who I know in order to give whom ever a perspective that they may need to consider. What are you doing?”
Him: “Which is to say, you are doing nothing, except disseminate disinformation and repeat propaganda on behalf of foreign adversaries.. I work with and contribute to organizations that are litigating against the government atrocities of the last 5 years and to get competent candidates elected.”
Me: “You do what you think is useful, and I do what I think is useful. Why do you think what you choose to do is so superior to what I do? And please define the word: “Competent”.
I am waiting for his what all can see will be his very objective and superior and much more sophisticated and “more better” answer.
(Can you tell how educated he is in his arrogance? Studied under Lawrence Tribe, and that I suspect is the germination point of his uncomfortability with the Constitution and the concept of free speech)
This loop = noose thing is a new American left insanity, there have been other examples; the noose at the Nascar garage stall, there were 8 nooses discovered at:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazon-shuts-construction-site-again-after-8th-noose-found/
Almost certainly all of which were functional for work carried out on the site – one supposed noose was a short length of rope with a loop in each end “found under electrical materials”, the electrical materials being lighting cable, the “noose” being the rope used to hold a coil of cable together and hang it on a hook.
No American flags in sight at these other instances, they were just examples of insane (using Mr. Zimmer’s word) people triggered to seeing what they were motivated to see and – hey presto! Seeing it.
Just as Mr. Zimmerman is triggered to see a black listing of the American flag, in the real world all the flag did was draw eyes towards the loop.

They fought for freedom with the GAR: 1935
A group photo of African American surviving members of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) who resided in and around Washington, D.C. in 1935.
Alexander Oglesby (front row, far right) and David Tennyson (rear, far left) can be identified through the September 26, 1936 Afro American newspaper that published cropped pictures of two of the men.
Oglesby lived at 1620 Florida Avenue NW in his later years. He was a member of the Frederick Douglas Post No 21 according to a 1901 Washington Post article. A 1910 Washington Herald article lists him as the officer of the day of the post and a delegate to the next national GAR encampment.
Another Washington Post article from 1928 lists his address as 337 Maryland Ave SW and names him as a member of the council of administration and a delegate to the Denver gathering of the GAR. The 1936 Afro American photos say he was attending the GAR’s 70th gathering in Washington, D.C.
The article notes he served in the Butler-Zouave Corps—later the District National Guard, which was organized in 1865. It further says Oglesby was 90 years old on August 20, 1936. He was unable to march in the D.C. parade, but rode in an automobile. He made every department convention and national encampment of the G.A.R since 1891.
Tennyson lived in Falls Church, VA in his later years and attended the 70th encampment in 1936. He died February 22, 1939 at his home in Virginia. Services were held at the 10th Street Baptist Church and he was interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
I salute you, gentlemen
