A quick one week fund-raising campaign for Behind the Black: Thank You!
My quick one week fund-raising campaign for Behind the Black is now over.
Thank you to everyone that donated or subscribed. As always I am surprised by the number of people who do so, considering that my work here is free for the taking. Because of this, to make sure everyone sees this message of thanks I will keep it on the to of the page for the next few days.
You of course can still donation or subscribe, if you wish. All you need to do is go to the tip jar below or in the right column, depending on the technology you use to view the webpage. There you will find four options for supporting me, including by subscription or donation.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
Bob. I am sorry you have to do an extra fund raiser. Thanks for the heads up about the fees. I’ve upped my monthly subscription to help offset.
Joe: Thank you! I am not actually doing an extra fund-raiser. This is the third November quickie I’ve done. I just have unfortunately this extra reason for doing so.
I would like to contribute to you when I have a situation, my friend, I wish you good luck
Bob, I had a few pennies remaining in a checking account so I decided to test a transfer method to see if it didn’t cost you anything. If cost free, I’ll send more when I receive my monthly SSA stipend.
Mr. Zimmerman:
Please keep this confidential.
I am an American lawyer living with my husband and three teenage children in northern Patagonia in Chile (nowhere near the Atacama desert). I run a private foundation. I have been listening to you for years on the John Batchelor show. Our foundation can only contribute to IRC 501c3 organizations. I was hoping you could connect me with science and technology groups you are familiar with doing fine work like SEDS. I am not a science and space person but my husband and children are. Also, on a personal note could you connect me with any good online science and technology programs. My children are into computer programming and are near exhausting the resources of Khan Academy. They are crazy about anything space related.
Finally do you know of young people who would like a friend in Chile. All my children are fluent in both English and Spanish. We are Americans. Thank you.
Hope it makes a difference. Voices like yours need to be supported. Will double my monthly contribution – which is not great – but on which you can count.
Bob, you do great work. Increased my monthly commitment. Want to make sure voices like yours can still contribute to the general public understanding as events unfold.
Woody Sprott: Thank you for your long time generous support. I must also thank everyone else for donating.
