Another Democrat demonstrates her stupidity and ignorance, demanding NASA’s acting administrator revoke Musk’s access to headquarters

Proving she knows nothing about the Constitution and the powers it gives to the President, congresswoman Grace Meng (D-New York) earlier this week sent a letter to NASA’s acting administrator Janet Petro demanding that Petro revoke any access to the agency’s headquarters by Elon Musk as part of his work auditing government operations as part of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Meng’s letter [pdf] is quite entertaining, especially because it repeats the new Democratic Party talking point that somehow because DOGE employees, including Musk, were “unelected” their access is inappropriate. How stupid. Except for the president, everyone who works in the executive branch of government is “unelected.”
That Meng also thinks NASA’s acting administrator has the power to block access to someone hired specifically by the president to do this work shows us how ignorant she is of the Constitution and basic law. Petro can’t cancel Trump’s orders, even if she wants to. Trump is her boss, and if he tasks Musk and DOGE to audit NASA’s books, she must comply.
There is only one part of Meng’s demand that makes some sense, where she demands Petro “set clear and public ground rules” to keep Musk from getting access to proprietary information of other space companies. Musk certainly has a conflict-of-interest issue at NASA, and such rules make sense. I am also quite sure that Musk is well aware of this issue, and will purposely leave the DOGE audit to others.

My annual February birthday fund-raising drive for Behind the Black is now over. Thank you to everyone who donated or subscribed. While not a record-setter, the donations were more than sufficient and slightly above average.
As I have said many times before, I can’t express what it means to me to get such support, especially as no one is required to pay anything to read my work. Thank you all again!
For those readers who like my work here at Behind the Black and haven't contributed so far, please consider donating or subscribing. My analysis of space, politics, and culture, taken from the perspective of an historian, is almost always on the money and ahead of the game. For example, in 2020 I correctly predicted that the COVID panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Every one of those 2020 conclusions has turned out right.
Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.
You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:
1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.
2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

If its Democrats, its related:
HOW THE REFOUNDING OF AMERICA BEGINS
“From what really happened to JFK and who was involved, to what really happened and who was involved in the 9-11 event and what led up to it, to Jeffery Epstein’s “little black book” and his private PEDO island. It is now all on the table. When you take the time to study these and many other events in American history you come to understand the difference between the necessary government narrative, and the cold and raw truth of the political power game.”
“You have recreated, reenergized and refocused the Trump that now sits in the White House, you put him there! Should have just let him be if you wanted the Socialist status quo to continue and prevail. WELL, DONE!”

Note Every Federal Bank examiner has full access to Every Persons data all 340 million every day.
Not only through the Federal Databases…
But in every bank they enter…
Full Access.
Truly, only in America can the learning disabled rise to such a position.
We have a unitary executive; we call The President. Trump is the Executive Branch and everyone who works in the executive branch by definition works for the President.
And it’s the only office that is elected by the entire Country

I try to use cash as much as possible. (tangentially, what are we doing about the 1 cent piece?) (Historically used so people could pay sales taxes…)
Apparently, some unelected people in government are more equal than others.
Joe Rogan makes the good point that being one of the smartest autists on the planet, Elon Musk is the wrong psychopath to pick a fight with.

James — Thank you for that. Even worse from the perspective of the left, both Elon Musk and Donald Trump would seem to exemplify Carlyle’s Great Man theory of history. This is, of course, anathema to the Marxists’ belief that only the “masses” (with a little guidance from the self-appointed, right-thinking elites) determine our destiny.
Who is Elon Musk most like?
Maybe a bit like Benjamin Franklin?
To think of a guy who would bring his son to work.
I did some accounting for a guy who left his company and started another one. His old company SUED him, claiming he was using “trade secrets” to sell motors and gear boxes that were in common use in every manufacturing business. I had to testify and when asked “Has Mr. x been utilizing “trade secrets” from his former employer’s company”? I replied “I have no idea what secrets he might know, but if he’s using any he better forget them before he goes bankrupt”! The Court burst into laughter – the Judge was not amused! But it was true, the guy had put his entire RETIREMENT funds into his company and was losing it all. I had no proof, but I think his former boss was bad mouthing him and undercutting his pricing.
What has that to do with Mr. Musk? IF he did gain access to his “competitors” proprietary info he surely should DISREGARD it – he’s doing quite well with his OWN knowledge!
I dare say Space X does not need any of NASA’s backwards and old technology, unless they want a good laugh.
Underestimating the stupidity of your average Progressive is an impossible task.
This is dumb on so many levels… NASA people generally try to avoid partisan politics. They just want to do their jobs. If their leadership tells them to let DOGE people in, they will.
And NASA has been dealing with company proprietary information from the start. There are long-established procedures for that. Things like competitive bids and bid evaluation are generally restricted to the small team that does the bid evaluation. NASA generally does not hold company proprietary technical information; that remains with the companies. But there isn’t as much of it as people think, because most stuff that is built for NASA under contract is paid for with government dollars, and NASA has government purpose rights.
Elon has already said he won’t participate in any evaluations where there is a direct conflict, e.g., launch services provided by Blue Origin or United Launch Alliance.

THE D.O.G.E EFFECT: UPDATE
“A slice from the real world: A CPA friend and customer of mine who I consider a political “Scalp” stopped by. A political Scalp being someone who came to me confused asking questions and attempting to make sense of the politics ongoing in the country over the last 10years. He was a loyal Democrat voter until the light bulb went off in his head and he began to better understand.”
