Explaining the limits of the Congressionally mandated Space Launch System
Explaining the limits of the Congressionally mandated Space Launch System.
In trying to explain why SLS can never function as a crew ferry for ISS, I think Muncy also illustrates why the whole system makes no sense and is really a complete waste of money. Consider this:
SLS’s first uncrewed test flight would be in December 2017, with the first crewed mission nearly four years later, in late 2021. Even worse, NASA’s plan showed that Orion and SLS would be able to fly only one exploration mission every two (or more) years.
We are spending a lot of money for very little results.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

i have commented Here and at other space interest sites of discussion as to this “vehicle” being No More than a money funneling project for “birds” that will Never Fly. these are All a direction for tax monies to further fund actual propulsion and vehicles that they really Want.
the SLS of NASA is nothing more than a channel for tax monies to further develop the “device” that they truly seek. now, we are into the 12 year of this spending and we have yet to have any More than an Artist Rendering. how Quaint.
i thought that i could find a further venue as to the What has taken shape. our avenues regarding tests in the 1960s and beyond regarding nuclear submarines and endurance regarding both machine and its crue, has supplied our factions with invaluable data as to sustained life beyond the extremes of endurance regarding what is supposed life conditions in day to day activity and such. further, these devices known only to the public as “nuclear submarines” has been mainly Top Secret as to their capabilities. not only as to manning one, but even to how the over all performance of these manned vessiles endured. i think we All know what i am relating here. if not, then i shall inject the term Space Flight.
