Homeland Security has proposed a plan to scan the private emails of anyone connected with defense work.
What could go wrong? Homeland Security has proposed a plan to scan the private emails of anyone connected with defense work.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

If the US announced in say,1942, that we were intercepting all radio and signal traffic with the capacity to decode it through the use of a previously obtained enigma machine….you ya think Admiral Dournitz would still send messages to his uboats in the Atlantic?
Big Sis just transmitted to every possible terrorist just how not too communicate. What a genius.
The fastest way to stop this is for the Republicans to make a news press conference that they would stand fully behind it.
You don’t actually think anyone on the left will go for something that the right wants?
I can see scanning the email of defense department companies. Its the companies email after all and if they want to do business with the government they have to play by their security rules.
But scanning every employees private email is wrong.
Most smart companies do not have internet access from the company computers. I know ours doesn’t and we are just a sub contractor.(we are also not allowed to carry ANY electronic devices into the company buildings either) That way an employee can not access their private email from the company computers. We can not even get phone reception, it blocked.
Employees will just access their private email by phone instead. Each company needs to put phone blockers in to add one more layer of security. And give real background checks on each employee.
