TV meteorologist fired for showing brainteaser with picture of noose
They’re coming for you next: An Oklahoma television meteorologist was fired yesterday for showing innocent brainteaser to the audience that included a picture of a noose that apparently offended a viewer.
Mandy Bailey was a meteorologist over at KSWO. She was fired after doing a brain teaser that someone found offensive. The brain teaser was of the word THERE, with a noose hanging off the ‘T’. If you think about it, the answer is ‘Hang in There’, since the noose is inside the word there. Someone called KSWO to complain about this.
There appears to be some push back here, with several advertising saying they will no longer advertise at the station because of the firing.
Either way, you want to destroy innocent people? Complain about silly innocent things that only idiots would construe as offensive. Do it on Twitter, that home of mob mentality and the perpetually outraged. And aim the attack at weak-kneed media outlets that are already part of our leftist totalitarian culture and prone to bow to such mob attacks.

This nonsense is not a feature of left wing thinking, I am not even sure what it is a feature of, but it needs someone to stand up against it and tell these snowflakes that it is not ok to look for stuff to get offended by , and even if offended.. they have to suck it up… Free speech is a right in most democratic countries… As Voltier is reported to have said ” I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it”….

This was today. I don’t generally post about similar events in Europe, but maybe I should. If anything, the situation is worse on your side of the Atlantic.
I have to disagree with you Bob… We might have an isolated example here and there, but there is no way we have the tidel wave of teachers getting fired, lectures and talks closed down and snowflakes getting butt hurt from others OPINIONS ( emphasis mine!) Here in Europe…
My opinion is mine, yours is yours, and we are both free to have them ..
With the exception of occasional blatant holocaust denial in Germany , I have heard of nothing getting closed down due to opinions or beliefs over here …
( also, I have to say, the daily mail is hardly an unbiased rag…) . As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was arrested during my last visit to England, I tried to break up a fight, and was released the next day with a handshake and “safe journey home”…
The UK police are generally freindly and well meaning… And it’s rare you get shot by one..
I think we are discussing a very American problem with the odd outlier..
I wonder if the meteorologist will abase herself before the Church, or say to heck with this and start voting Republican (or at least not-Democrat).

And if so, how do you know that the other news operations are not ignoring these types of occurrences, giving you only the impression that you are safe and secure in your home, workplace, and malls?

I can’t think of any absurd firings or prosecution for fantasy hate crimes in NZ, but I can believe it won’t be long before we’re also infected.
