Argent – Hold Your Head Up
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
I think Diane Zimmerman and I have similar tastes in music. :)

–i always forget this song is from Argent, and not someone else.
from some compiled yt comment factoids:
-“this is actually from the very first Midnight Special (the pilot show) broadcast August 19 of 1972. It was hosted by John Denver, with Argent, Cass Elliot and Linda Ronstandt.”
[ began its run as a regular series on February 2, 1973]
One of the best live renditions of a 70’s hit I’ve ever seen. No lip syncing, no taped tracks and very well mixed. A stellar performance IMHO.
The early 70’s were an amazing time for high schoolers! We’d stay up late with junk food galore and watch The Midnight Special, In Concert and Soul Train and we were able to rock out to our favorite bands of the time! Sadly this can’t be done in today’s world…each weekly program would cost billions of $$$$$ to produce because of the over-priced bilge called “music”, royalties and legalities of today’s greedy and litigious society.
Not to mention the joys of listening to the Dr. Demento show on Sunday nights. Now we have Joey Demento in the White House now. Sad.
