There is little good will on the left, and the right seems eager to lose it too

This is what the Christmas season stands for.
The New Testament words celebrating the birth of Jesus are clear and bright, and are repeated by everyone in these weeks before the holiday: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
The colloquial phrase people normally say this time of year is usually “Peace on Earth and good will toward men!”, with the hope that both will come to all.
It appears unfortunately that the idea of “good will” is vanishing from American society, and maybe for all of western civilization. Good will means you treat all persons with respect, even if you disagree with them. You also hope that everyone achieves the best they can in their personal lives, even your enemies. You don’t wish harm on others, only oppose anyone from doing harm to others.
Such good will once dominated American society. Just think of the 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life! to get a taste of that American culture. In politics, there was often fierce debate, but after the Civil War especially the culture decided it was better to talk things out with good will to all then to grab guns and kill each other.
And most of all, during each year’s Christmas season the desire to promote good will was everywhere, in everyone’s hearts and minds.
This ideal now appears to be vanishing. On the left that vanishing began with the election of Donald Trump in 2016, and has accelerated since. You cannot have a reasonable or rational discussion with practically anyone on the left about Trump. He is the devil incarnate to them, and anyone who even expresses the slightest positive thought about him must be blackballed, slandered, and even killed.
Think I am exaggerating? The widow of Charlie Kirk doesn’t think so. Neither does Donald Trump, who survived two assassination attempts. Nor does someone like Elon Musk, who now readily admits he can no longer appear in public out of fear of violence because of his support of Trump in the 2024 election.
A more benign but equally ugly example of this lack of good will occurred just last week — in the midst of this year’s Christmas season — and the anger and hate didn’t just come from the left. Watch the vile behavior of this leftist woman in a Walmart when she saw an senior citizen and Target worker wearing a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” t-shirt (warning: her language is decidedly obscene):
Leftist woman BERATES Target employee for wearing a Charlie Kirk "Freedom" shirt
"Are you f*cking stupid? Why the F*CK would you wear that?… You support a racist?… Piece of sh*t."

The woman who recorded the video and attacked this Target worker is named Michaela Ponce. Her behavior is quite typical of many on the left, who feel somehow it is their right to scream at strangers for daring to have different political opinions. They do it in restaurants, in classrooms, in conference rooms, on the streets, almost anywhere a political opinion might possibly be expressed.
The Target worker, named Jeanie Beeman, demonstrated what I mean by good will by her reaction to Ponce in the video. She remained calm and reasonable, and ended the exchange by saying quite sincerely “Have a nice day,” as she walked away. She further proved her good will when others tracked her down and asked her if she thought Ponce should be fired from a job for her incivil behavior:
NEW: Ms. Jeanie Beeman speaks out after being harassed over her Charlie Kirk shirt at Target and says she does not want her attacker fired.

No. I don’t think that’s right. Two wrongs don’t make a right. She wronged me, but I don’t want to wrong her. … I really wouldn’t want to see her lose her job over it.
Beeman’s kind reaction does not however seem to reflect the growing trends on the right. The calls to have Ponce fired have been many, with many conservative pundits doing whatever they can to attack her. The sense I get is a deep lust for revenge, the very opposite of what good will entails.
And those calls have succeeded. First there was a threat of a police investigation, followed by an investigation into Ponce’s behavior by her employee. Ponce then responded by issuing a public apology on line.
For many on the right, that apology seemed fake and insufficient, and demanded more. And those demands worked, as Ponce’s employer finally fired her.
Ponce was wrong, utterly so. And yes, her employer had every right to fire her, especially because she is a health care worker treating parents.
We as decent humans however shouldn’t be relishing that fate upon her. Her apology was insufficient, because for an apology to be true, it must be done face-to-face with the injured party. Posting something on line accomplishes nothing. The right way for Ponce to have apologied would be for her to find Beeman, to apologize to her personally and publicly, to shake hands, and then to work to encourage a dialogue between them.
If Ponce’s employer demanded that from her — instead of firing her — we might actually be moving back to a society of good will. And demanding such in the Christmas season would have been wholly appropriate and fitting.
Sadly, that didn’t happen. Instead, Ponce has lost her job, and the amount of good will in the world has go down. The right will chortle with glee, and the left’s anger will simply rise.
And the chance for peace on Earth will diminish significantly.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

WHY THE ZIONOIST / ISRAELI CONTROVERSY?
This is going to be a very short and simple explanation about who exactly created and who guaranteed the state of Israel would exist and why Zionism is what it is and why it will remain as it is. Keeping in mind the Middel East is an extremely complex multicultural highly emotional location on planet earth.
First, ask the question: What is Zionism.
Simply, what is Zionism? Zionism is a nationalist movement advocating for the establishment and support of a Jewish homeland in Israel, rooted in historical and cultural ties to the land.
Any country that can manifest its existence through struggle and military dominance has a right to have a nationalist perspective that further ensures their existence. Both America, and Israel in conjunction specifically with America both fit these criteria. No apology, EVER!
When did the state of Israel come into existence? After World War 2 ended and the inhumane actions of Hitlers Nazi Germany regarding his focus on “cleansing” the world of the Jews in 1948 the formal state of Israel was formulated and located in the well documented ancestral land where the Jewish culture has historically existed for millennia (thousands of years).
Who was the preeminent and dominant power at the end of World War 2 that ensured Israels existence? The United States of America.
So, one might ask: Why would the United States of America at this point in history abandon either its own Western Judeo / Christian and Constitutionally based philosophy regarding freedom and military dominance OR abandon the state of Israel which has the same fundamental philosophies?
The answer? One would not ever abandon either.
There are however those among the brave “NEW” thinkers in America and those of a more “progressive” Democrat party, Eastern and Islamic orientation mentality who because of the freedom structured, formulated and ensured by the United States of America think that the time is now to sever those long-established ties between the United States of America and Israel.
America can never cast aside its best and most likeminded state in the Middle East. That no matter how anti America you may be can ever be tolerated. Israel is a strategic American military ally in the Middel East.
Now that you better and simply understand the Israel / America issue, choose.

Evil lives in all of us. Some of us (Democrats) don’t suppress it. Some of us (Republicans) have been afraid to respond it.
So evil verus cowardice has produced modern American society.
Evil isn’t going anywhere. It’s here to stay forever.
Righteous response to evil is required.

“The ability to either take and or retain possession and control of ANYTHING through force establishes ownership of that ANYTHING.
Why does America exist? Because America says it exists and has the power to back that up.
If the Native Americans or any other country were able to by force take possession of the American territory, then they would have the right to it and own it.
Every Native American tribe through the show of power, brutal domination and force lived by the exact same rules of existence. They “owned” the land until someone else was able to take it from them by force.
So, America does not exist on “Stolen Land”, America exists on American land. PERIOD! NO APOLOGY.
Suicide is not a component of the Constitution as the radical “progressive” mostly Democrat party anti-America intellectualizing Leftists are trying to sell. And why are they trying to sell this concept? In order that they through their “superior” “morality” would retain and further acquire more political power and control through their intellectual “morally superior” and “virtuous” argument. Which is fraudulent.”
This happened at a Target store in Chico, California. For Target’s part, as far as I’ve heard, they are keeping a grip on themselves. They have the in-store surveillance video of the entire encounter.
Jeanie is 72 and her husband died of cancer recently. 2 separate fundraising campaigns started on her behalf because of this incident, have raised over $340K to date.
–Michaela Ponce is a Registered Nurse in California. She easily made twice/thrice the hourly wage of Jeanie.
Her employer obviously felt it wasn’t prudent to continue with a professional on staff who publicly hates a large number of the people she encounters in a medical setting on a daily basis She mediates access to controlled drugs & medical services, if she likes you…. apparently. Difficult to be confident in her professional skills at this point.
She initiated this encounter and uploaded the video herself.
Dumbest move ever? Oh yeah.
-She still has her License. She should just unplug from the internet and find a new job.
If I did this type of thing, I’d be fired and have to beg for my license.
