Insurance premiums skyrocketing due to Obamacare
Finding out what’s in it: Because of Obamacare health insurance premiums will go up again next year, as much as 60 percent in some cases.
This story isn’t really news. As predicted by every conservative and tea party person before Obamacare was passed in 2010, as Obamacare has kicked in and as it has forced insurance companies to pay for the healthcare of the sick who never paid for health insurance previously, they are forced to raise their rates to cover the costs. These increases are only the start. Worse, they are getting so burdensome that soon no one will be able to afford health insurance at all, which will make it impossible for that insurance to protect anyone.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

As per design.
It is not only that the insurance companies now have to pay for the healthcare of the sick who never bought health insurance before, but now that insurance prices have skyrocketed, those of us who have been healthy are finding that buying the expensive insurance has become foolish. Not only are these insurance companies paying out more, but they are losing income from healthy people who now find it unreasonable to pay high insurance for the low probability that they will have a catastrophic illness.
The deductibles are now so enormous that we healthy people will reach these limits only in the case of catastrophic illness. I used to be able to get better catastrophic insurance coverage for a much, much lower price with lower deductibles, but Obama thinks that he knows better than I do as to what I need in my health insurance, so he mucked up the available coverage and made the price unaffordable.
The plan is working. Single payer through default.
But we could ALL afford the coverage if we all received a the universal basic income…
