Academic bigots: An Illinois college is proud to offer “blacks-only” courses.
“[College 101] provides an opportunity to assess your purpose for college, assess your study strategies, set college and career goals, examine your values and decision-making skills, and develop an appreciation for diversity,” the course catalog states. [emphasis mine]
Next thing I expect academia to suggest is that blacks really shouldn’t have to use the same water fountains, buses, or schools as whites, and should be given separate but equal facilities. Otherwise, how else can they learn to appreciate diversity!

It wouldn’t surprise me if the professors teaching this course were white; I’ve encountered white academics who consider themselves the only ones qualified to teach blacks because they are the only ones who see reality for what it is. How ironic would that be?
The thing is, it might be worthwhile to break down the sections according to some other criteria (for example, first generation college students, or based on what type of high school they went to, or even for low income students), so long as they made it clear that this was only for an introductory course and in all other courses would present the same material to all students. That they are breaking it down by race speaks volumes about who the racists are.

You are forgetting about restroom facilities. If you remember from the movie, “The Help,” author Kathryn Stockett made separate restroom facilities an issue in her novel, so we may soon see this issue come up on campuses.

Probably not separate buses, though. Most likely, blacks will sit at the back of the bus, so that they are closer to the exit door. All it takes is a more reasonable excuse for segregation, as liberals shouting “cooties” doesn’t work so well, anymore, to convince minorities to stay away from “white folk.”
College campuses are starting to act more like the movie “Blazing Saddles” than “The Paper Chase.”

Apparently, they no long feel the need for their absurd charade. The Democrats are so secure, now, in their form of racism that they are open about it — yet LBJ *still* has minorities voting Democrat.
It seems that half a century later, liberals are finally in a position to fix what they think was wrong with the Civil Right Act — assimilation of minorities into “white societies.”
The hopeful sign? The Huffington Post article concludes: “These quotes from Dems are why minority voters are starting to understand how they’ve been swindled into thinking that the Democratic Party best represents their interests. That’s worrisome for Democrats at large. The facts, coming home to roost, will create a major backlash against the Democratic Party.”
“College 101,” –that’s the type of class they make you take, (along with “Math-50” & “English-50”) when they fear you might get kicked out in your first semester ‘cuz they know you can’t hack it.
