Lawyers for Covington high schooler file first lawsuit, against Washington Post
You reap what you sow: Lawyers for Covington high school student Nicholas Samdmann have filed their first defamation lawsuit, this time against Washington Post.
The Post’s campaign to target Nicholas in furtherance of its political agenda was carried out by using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles which effectively provided a worldwide megaphone to Phillips and other anti-Trump individuals and entities to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the President.
Unlike the Post’s abuse of the profession of journalism, Plaintiffs do not bring this lawsuit to use the judicial system to further a political agenda. This lawsuit is brought against the Post to seek legal redress for its negligent, reckless, and malicious attacks on Nicholas which caused permanent damage to his life and reputation.
The Post bullied an innocent child with an absolute disregard for the pain and destruction its attacks would cause to his life.
The Post proved itself to be a loud and aggressive bully with a bully pulpit.
The link provides the full text of the filing, which also serves as a nice summary of the entire story. Essentially, this was another example of the mob going after someone — this time a 16-year-old boy — because he happened to be white and an apparent Trump supporter. For those reasons as well as a bunch of unproven allegations, the kid was accused of being a vicious racist. In this case however the facts show the complete opposite, and every media outlet and celebrity that participated in the onslaught is very vulnerable to significant damages in court for slander and defamation. The lawyers have merely begun with the Washington Post, because it has the deepest pockets.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.
In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.
Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Mr. Bezos had better realize that the vicious dogs on his leash bit an innocent child in front of the world and that he is ultimately responsible. Should he not man-up and do the right thing for that kid his employees maligned, Amazon will be added to the growing list of products and service providers that I no longer involve myself with. The Washington Post has been on that list for quiet a while now.
From the filing: “In order to fully compensate Nicholas for his damages and to punish, deter, and teach the Post a lesson it will never forget, this action seeks money damages in excess of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Dollars ($250,000,000.00) – the amount Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest person, paid in cash for the Post when his company, Nash Holdings, purchased the newspaper in 2013.”
It is interesting that the lawyers chose the purchase price (most recent confirmed value of the paper) as the compensatory and punitive damages. This may suggest the amounts that they will seek with some of the other bullies. They claim that the actual (compensatory) damages were $50 million and the rest punitive, in order to deter similar bullying actions in the future.

What advertisers pulled there ads from the media attackers programs? Last year they pull their ads from Laura Ingram’s program after some comments she made about the foul mouthed “kid” from Florida saying that she was attacking a juvenile. Did they pull their ads from the liberal media for the same thing?
People on the right do engage in boycotts from time to time but don’t use the same tactics Democrats do. Democrats marshal troll farms and social media bot campaigns to make it appear as if more people are upset than really are and they also have willing recipients in corporate leadership, who are often SJW nutjobs too.
It is nice to see someone fight back against the slurs and assaults that Democrats use against their opponents. Over a hundred years of using violence and societal deplatforming tactics and they never get called out on it, rather they somehow try to blame Republicans for the actions of Democrats.
It’s funny the hole they dug for themselves because they saw kids wearing “Maga” hat’s which, like Pavlov’s dogs, caused “trump derangement syndrome”… I wonder if a jury would except this as a reasonable defense explanation.
By the way, the boys got the hats on the trip.

“The investigators’ report addressed some of the students wearing red MAGA hats and noted most were bought after arriving in D.C. for an anti-abortion March”

Good stuff. I don’t know about D.C., but in Michigan you can be “guilty but mentally ill,” the key word being guilty. (we’ll be happy to give you your meds, in prison.)
It’s respondent vs. operant-conditioning.
