“I consider myself very middle-of-the-road politically: a social liberal but fiscal conservative. Nonetheless, I avoid the topic of politics around work,” one student wrote. “Given what I’ve read of the literature, I am certain any research I conducted in political psychology would provide contrary findings and, therefore, go unpublished. Although I think I could make a substantial contribution to the knowledge base, and would be excited to do so, I will not.”

Seems like we’re returning to the dark ages – science is being held hostage to doctrine. If your scientific results don’t conform to certain PC views, it will either be ignored, or, worse, disparaged & discredited. We’ve already witnessed this in the case of climate science, where “scientists” with a political agenda hyped data supporting their pre-comceived notion of the “truth” & ignored, hid, or covered up data supporting a contrary view. These are sad times for true science…
I obtained a Master of Science in Civil Environmental Engineering in the early 90’s and worked in the field for several years before coming to the conclusion that my conservative political and religious beliefs were a direct disadvantage to any career advancement due to the overwhelming liberal takeover throughout the feild. I left and went to medical school. Sadly, a similar takover has occurred within the AMA and the majorinty of medical schools. Obamacare is the camel’s nose that the EPA was in the 70’s.
