Greta Thunberg: All humanity is now extinct on Earth, because we didn’t do anything about global warming

Greta Thunberg speaks!
Greta Thunberg speaks!

How dare you! On June 21, 2018, Greta Thunberg informed us — as shown in her tweet to the right — that we only had five years left to stop using fossil fuels, and if we didn’t “climate change will wipe out all of humanity.”

I am hardly the only person to note this example of global warming fraudulence. Numerous reporters have also gleefully noted it, with this essay today at American Thinker by Andrea Widburg probably the most damning, not so much for noting the ignorant rantings of this uneducated high school drop-out whom the left made their icon of knowledge and top global warming expert, but for the list she provides of the endless number of other failed doomsday predictions by global warming activists and politicians.

That list was compiled in 2019, and thus it did not yet include Thunberg’s absurd prediction. Nor did it include the endless string of additional false doomsday predictions that this crowd has continued to issue in the years since, all of which I guarantee without any uncertainty will all fail, just as their hundreds of past doomsday predictions have failed.

You see, the point of those predictions was not to educate, but to instill fear, so as to then justify a power grab by the government. As Widburg concludes:

There’s an important difference, though, between Greta’s cult and all other cults. Every doomsday cult of the past insisted that individuals must change if they wanted to ward off the end or face final judgment without fear.

The leftists’ climate doomsday cult is the first to demand change at the government level. They insisted that governments give away their citizens’ money and implement policies to return their prosperous, safe societies to a pre-modern era of darkness, dirty water, famine, disease, and endless wars over limited resources. [emphasis mine]

That the global warming cult chose as its principal spokesperson Greta Thunberg, a mere child who knew nothing about climate science, illustrates well its cult nature. Facts meant nothing, only emotion and fear, and the best way to transmit that emotion and fear to as many people as possible is to use a child as a prop.

It would be nice if Thunberg’s failed prediction today would cause these global warming thugs to cease with their Chicken Little doomsday pronouncements. Sadly, we all know that is not going to happen. They are going to scream “The end is near!” endlessly. What needs to happen is for people to finally stop listening to them.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

To be fair (not that they deserve it), the prediction isn’t that humanity would be wiped out by this date, but that by this date it would be too late to do anything about it. So of course we should now take them at their word and live it up and stop worrying about our carbon emissions or such, since we’re now irrevocably doomed anyways.

  • In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, any number of religious leaders predicted Doomsday, often inducing people to give up all worldly possessions. They would usually go to a designated place on the predicted Day of Reckoning, and wait for Jesus.

    He hasn’t shown yet.

AGW is very much the same thing in a different guise. Much more needs to be made of the fact that ‘climate change’ is institutionalized religion, no different than the Catholic Church in fuedal Europe. The Church at least offers salvation and redemption, neither of which are hallmarks of the Left.

  • Cotour

Yes, it’s called a Jim Jones hustle.

  • Ray Van Dune

What about all the town and highways that were supposed to be underwater by now, not to mention the ice-free Arctic Ocean?!

And I’d love to see someone go back through mid-20th century microfilm newspaper archives, to reconstruct the actual average temps and compare them to what NOAA shows graphically today. I would bet money they are bogus!

  • Col Beausabre

    “fraudulence”? NO – flatulence

  • Col Beausabre

That poor, ignorant, deluded, brain washed child…..

  • John

    HOW DARE YOU !!!1!!1!

To be fair, it’s not global warming anymore, they changed it to climate change when the warming more or less stopped like they said would happen. Hot, cold, snow, rain, floods, droughts, storms- weather is everything!

One thing for sure, I wouldn’t buy waterfront property at sea level like Obama and Gates and, well, probably all of them.

Since it’s now too late, I vote we keep our transportation, energy, prosperity, freedom, and liberty.

Won’t even have to vote for Giant Meteor 2024 anymore, Yay!

  • John

I would also like to keep our farms and food, thank you.

I don’t blame her for being a fool. I blame her parents and teachers for putting these doomsday type thoughts into her head. I consider that a form of child abuse.

Greta: Alfred E. Newman comes to mind.

Not an insult, just a comparison.

I never once insulted Alfred E. Newman.

  • pzatchok

I can not wait until she gets all knocked up and pregnant.

Within a year her philosophy will change.

Unless she plans on using her child like her parents used her. As a tool. A real tool.

I’m old enough to remember back in the 1970s, when it was that we were putting too many particulates in the air and were going to cause another ice age.

And now, for some reason, I can’t get Arnold S. and his cheesy ice puns from ‘Batman and Robin’ out of my head.

  • Hank

If this is the afterlife, I’m very disappointed.

  • Wylie1

Sorry, the climate always has and always will change. Volcanoes have always filled the atmosphere with contaminants. Before oil was being massively consumed around the world oil oozed out of cracks in the earth for longer than we’ll ever know. Lightning-caused forest fires burned for months at a time until the winter rains came along. Then the same thing happened on the other side of the equator. If climate change was a problem mankind would have been wiped out long ago.

  • Edward

climate change will wipe out all of humanity.

I’ve been hearing that song since 1968 or 1969. The coming ice age, global warming, and now climate change. It is the same song but a different verse. I am tired of hearing this bogus nonsense. It reminds me of the story of the Greta who cried “wolf!” How dare she cry wolf yet again?

Little Miss Greta Muffet, sat on her tuffet, eating her power-made cake; along came an expert, who sat down beside her, and frightened Miss Greta awake. She may have given us only five years, until yesterday, but about that same time AOC gave us until 2030 (where did she get her information?). California isn’t even going to begin to solve the ice age problem — er — climate change problem until 2035.

These empresses with no clothes (somehow we thought the sight would be more prurient) just cannot get their stories straight.

For centuries, tales have been told to children to warn them of exactly what is happening today. It is too bad so few people remember them. What did George Santayana say about learning the lessons of the past?

We have passed so very many of these drop dead dates that I just laugh and do as David Eastman suggested: “live it up and stop worrying about our carbon emissions or such, since we’re now irrevocably doomed anyways.

Eat, drink, and make merry, for tomorrow we still won’t die!

GaryMike is right to compare with Alfred E. “What? Me worry?” Newman

Meanwhile, all the climate alarmists continue to use powered transportation, use power at home and at work or school, and purchase food, cakes, goods, and services that were created using power. But, like Adam Shiff, they are proud to be hypocrites and liars.

    I love the fear-mongering.

Agree with them and push for space solar powersats.

What does space based radar do?

    The same.

As a Weather Forecaster I have missed a few forecasts, but if my track record was anything like the Climate Cultists, (what are they now 0 for 42 End of the World forecasts?)
I think my day job would be asking “Ya want fries wit dat?
But, when ever I get a chance to fisk any of the Climate Cultist who Pronounce with such certitude that we MUST end all Fossil Fuels or it’s the End of the World as we know it…
I helpfully post a meme with their Patron Saint Al Gore’s prophetic “The Artic will be Ice Free by 2013”
Then I post the current SUMMERTIME surface plot of Ice in the Northern Hemisphere…
Funny how the Cultist never have anything to say about that.

Poor Greta, the poster child for useful idiot.

I wonder if anyone has explained to her that her speech, that oral communication would not be possible without exhaling carbon dioxide? That the average human exhales nearly 800 pounds of CO2 in a year?
In a way, removing “freedom of speech” to an extreme excuse for preventing the release of CO2 could be expanded to “removing breathing at all”…

In the law of supply and demand, you can’t have zero carbon economy as long as you have carbon consumers of carbohydrates (sugars) and hydrocarbons (fats). Perhaps this is what is meant by the political solution to the weather problem of Global warming? (pure politics) which of course can only be caused by enemy number one… humans.

Greta sad; “we only had five years left to stop using fossil fuels, and if we didn’t “climate change will wipe out all of humanity”

With no fossil fuels, there’s no farming, transportation, electricity, we’re literally burning wood to stay alive. Until the food runs out.
I heard on the news this morning that the FDA has approved lab grown “cancer cells” meat for sale… consumes 25 times more energy per pound then farmed meat.
Now farm animals can be put to the slaughter to prevent methane, even though all the hay and grass they would’ve eaten will rot on the ground and turn into methane anyway. (just as all the tree leaves do every fall) truly a useless gesture only idiots would come up with. Unless mass starvation is the point… A means to an end.

The increase in carbon dioxide in our atmosphere has had the opposite effect of “greening the planet” and making farming more productive. (no increase in temperatures whatsoever, NASA has been caught fudging the data changing satellite temperatures to be higher, while eliminating/removing lower temperatures as “errors”)

But the agenda of the destruction of the human race is being carried out just the same. Bill Gates brags that his vaccination shots (for an extinct virus) is “new and improved” and more potent than ever…. His MNRA genetic manipulation will save the world from disease! (humanity)
The department of defense is ordering enough for everyone, and a vaccination for the Marburg virus as well… Operation warp speed has conveniently compressed 10 years of experimentation into one year. Just in time for the next pandemic, the WEF is very excited!

Geez! Is that all? No wonder I have such a hard time losing weight, because that is only a little over 2 pound a day of my food intake being exhaled. Maybe I should take up some form of exercise to increase the CO2 that I exhale each day.

Oh, no, wait. That will only add to global warming — er — global climate change pandemic ice age.

I wonder if anyone has explained to her that her speech, that oral communication would not be possible without exhaling carbon dioxide?

How dare she exhale carbon dioxide and then blame the rest of us for her own contribution to the problem she herself is causing.

Oh, that’s right. She is a proud hypocrite and liar. That is how she dares.

I thought 2 pounds sounds excessive to me also. So I did a quick search which resulted in liters per day but here’s one in pounds. (still not sure I believe it)

“Answer. Each person exhales about 2-1/2 pounds of carbon dioxide a day, but the effect on the atmosphere is minimal.”

  • Edward

Max wrote: “‘Answer. Each person exhales about 2-1/2 pounds of carbon dioxide a day, but the effect on the atmosphere is minimal.’

Perhaps it is minimal for one individual, but if we include the entire human population of almost 8 billion, we get 9 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) daily. 800 lb. of CO2 per person per year gives us 3.2 billion tons of CO2 per year. Just from breathing. That is minimal? That seems to be a big deal. How dare Greta exhale carbon dioxide?

Twenty years ago, the global warming alarmists (they hadn’t yet discovered that climates change naturally*) were upset that human use of fossil fuel and other sources of energy put out 6 billion tons of CO2 annually, which means that our breath is about 1/3 of our total CO2 output, and half of what it takes to cause the globe to warm or the climate to change (or the next ice age to start). That seems to be a big deal.

Maybe we should raise awareness by holding annual “hold your breath” days. By all of us holding our breaths for a whole day, we could save the world, or at the least we could save 9 million tons worth of the world.

How about all those animals on our farms? They exhale carbon dioxide, too. If each human exhales 800 lbs. of CO2 a year, think of how much those animals must exhale every year. Could they be putting more CO2 in the air than we humans put in the air with all our industry and energy use? Whether or not they do, that seems like it could be a big deal.

We haven’t had that much power over Mother Nature since she sank the unsinkable Titanic. We had dared to think that we had the power and ability to defeat her, but it turned out that her ego made her prove us wrong. Now that we think that our actions overwhelm her, the alarmist tell us that she will melt the poles and the glaciers and raise the ocean levels to drown us all and the polar bears in the style of the Great Flood. I know someone named Noah. Maybe I should find out if he is building an ark and book passage now, before everyone else tries to get on.

No wonder we are all doomed. No wonder all humanity is now about to go extinct on Earth, because we didn’t do anything about global warming. We had our chances. We blew it each and every time. We screwed up with Al Gore’s year-2000 deadline and in his other deadline, 2014, about the total loss of the Arctic ice floes. And Prince Charles’ deadline. And all those other deadlines from non-famous non-scientists.

    Maybe swimming lessons will help.

Oh, wait! We are saved! AOC (Angelina Oxygen Cortez) has given us until 2030 to stop the world’s climates from changing. We can still save the world, all we have to do is convince California to advance its timeline for the all-electric state (no gas cars, no gas stoves, etc.) from 2035 to 2025.

Come to think of it, the United States met its share of the Kyoto Accords requirement, so we did our part. We did do something about global warming, and we succeeded in stopping it! How dare Greta come here and blame us for her imaginary problem.

We did our part so well that the Earth’s temperature stabilized. We Americans singlehandedly saved the world from global warming! The temperature stabilized so nicely that NOAA and NASA had to modify the historical average temperature data set, without explaining it to anyone, without telling anyone, and in the direction that supported a conclusion that they wanted us to believe so that we would continue thinking that the Earth had a fever (per Al Gore lore). This is the very definition of fudging data. It demonstrates confirmation bias. It demonstrates that government agencies want people like poor little Greta Thunberg to believe the untruth that we humans have power over Mother Nature. It demonstrates that data has to be conjured up in order to hide the inconvenient truth.

The inconvenient truth is that Mother Nature puts 50 times as much CO2 into the atmosphere than we humans do, that we don’t have the power over Mother Nature that we think we do, that climates always change, no matter what we do, that the globe’s temperature is controlled and determined by Mother Nature herself, not us, and that the coming ice age is still due any millennium.

It demonstrates that even en masse, humanity’s effect on the atmosphere is minimal.
