There are numerous signs the vaunted Obama political machine isn’t firing on all cylinders right now – this is yet another sign his suppoert has waned among Democrats & the enthusiasm of ’08 just isn’t there. He’s not generating the same level of enthusiasm among the college crowd either, as the 1/2-empty arena at Ohio State showed. A poll shows Romney now with an 8-point lead in NC, where they were virtually tied a few weeks ago. A NYT poll shows Mitt actually leading Obama 46-44 among ALL women voters – women went handily for Obama in ’08. He’s alienated Catholics and now the gay marriage thing seems to be backfiring. If Axelrod & Obama’s politcal team aren’t getting nervous, they should be. It’s still early & much can happen between now & Nov 6, but right now, this doesn’t look a THING like the “Hope & Change” campaign of ’08…
