Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

“Insane” & “Mad rush” to escape New York & San Francisco

As people always do, they flee fascist and oppressive states. And now they are doing so from the Democratic Party strongholds of New York and San Francisco.

In both cases, I am sure it isn’t just fear of the Wuhan flu. People are also fleeing the lock downs, the violence and looting in connection with protests related to George Floyd’s death, and the overall tyrannical bankrupt rule by Democrats in both places.

Trust me, it is only going to get worse. I have great doubts the voters will throw these bankrupt Democrats out of office in November, which means the mad rush will continue. Just like East Germany in the 1950s, people will not sit and suffer in a communist fascist state, if they have an option to leave. And just like in East Germany, I will not be surprised if the leaders in both New York and San Francisco, assuming the voters make no change, take more restrictive actions to stop the flight.

Readers!

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Parts of Seattle may be next.

My personal thoughts are that if they want the neighborhood. Let them have it.
Wall it off. Siege warfare. Nothing, and I mean NOT ONE THING, goes in or out.
    Cut the power.
    Cut the water.

    And then wait.

After the devastation and destruction that has been accomplished by the worst mayor in American history, Bill DeBlasio.

After the Left has bankrupted New York City there must be a rational and non idealistic mayor installed, and that man IMO should or will be John Catsimitidis.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Catsimatidis

I have become familiar with him listening to his radio show on 970 am on Sunday. He is realistic and he is not a pandering man, and he has accomplished much in his life and, like Trump is a billionaire and is a can do / get things done type person. He is middle of the road and has friends on both sides of the aisle.

He has initiated an exploratory mayoral run committee, He ran before and nearly won, and with what has gone on in the past two DeBalsio administrations the people of New York may well understand the need to have such a person in office to straighten things out and essentially save the city.

Catsimatidis is the man to watch here.

Unfortunately, many of those fleeing will continue to vote for the same failed policies that brought us to this point.

The only thing that will stop NY, etc from their failed path is when the cash is totally depleted. There should be no bailouts, and that includes the pension funds. They are quite happy to destroy the lives of others to get what they want, I have no sympathy for them when the chickens come home to roost.

Where the hell do we go when the United States becomes a fascist and oppressive state. It’s a two party system, the deranged left will eventually have power and the feckless RINOs won’t do jack.

“If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.”

I want to amend earlier statement.

    I said cut off water.
    Cut off power.

I should add cut off internet and phone.
Jam cell signals in and out

If they want to claim to be outside of the US, then they should get zero benefits that capitalism has provided thus far.

After November, the U.S. might be closer to being a sort of 1.5 -party system. Political parties, like nations, enjoy no patent of immortality. Quite a number have risen and fallen over our near-quarter-millenium national history. The Democrats are, frankly, well overdue for their eternal dirt-nap. After the shenanigans they have countenanced and even encouraged recently, U.S. politics might be nearly at another brittle fracture point as it was in the 1850’s when the wishy-washy Whigs imploded and the Republicans arose to take their place.

Space exploration isn’t the only arena in which we live in interesting times.

The Democrat party will be replaced. They will be the Democrat-socialist, or progressive-socialist, or some such nonsense to give themselves the cover of legitimacy while they continue a March to revolution. This is the socialist way.

The problem with the stampede is that the stampeders are leftists who want to infect there refuges with their failed ideas of government. Example – Colorado

I thought that NY proposed a state law about taxing (fining) the people who leave the equivalent of three years taxes.

They flee when it gets bad, but then they vote for the same things again

Build a wall to keep them IN

Any refugees from NY might want to re-consider any move to NC. Things are getting strange here.

After a couple of weekend races and the local sheriff not following the governor’s demands, Cooper starts this mess.

I think history provides an answer, however radical, to allow both liberals and conservatives to enjoy life ruled by their ideas:

    1. East/West Germany
    2. North/South Korea
    3. Czechoslovakia
    4. Etc

Perhaps it’s time to divide the US of A into 2-3 countries, each to live as they wish ?

  • Cotour

Does anyone remember me pointing out the “Seattle Is Dying” video that I posted here several months ago? Where it was pointed out that the “Progressive” / Leftist agenda that was underway in Seattle was what was going to be brought to the rest of the country’s major cities, specifically New York. Releasing prisoners, people living and crapping in the streets, drugs and crime rampant, disarm the police, etc, etc.

Well its here and now in a big way.

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/06/10/antifa-activists-take-over-six-city-blocks-in-seattle-washington-create-lawless-capitol-hill-autonomous-zone/

And here it is in the real world, ANTIFA has been ALLOWED to take over a police station and several blocks of the city and have declared it a “free” state. This is the point where the people need to make sure this is stopped, and I mean that in a very forceful manner. The people themselves need to get their pitch forks out and remove their elected officials and clean the entire thing out.

Who knew it was as close as it actually was when I posted it those several moths ago?

  • Patrick Underwood

Cotour, the people of Seattle will never do what you suggest. In fact I predict they will overwhelmingly vote their current rulers back into office when the time comes.

    But…

When Trump is re-elected, the rioting may get bad enough to flip the civil-war switch.
