January 26, 2019 Zimmerman on Martian Revelation
I did a long two-hour appearance on a live internet show this past weekend. If you want to listen, you can do so here. Be warned, the audio starts automatically, and I do not appear until the show’s second hour, though you can jump forward.
In some ways this is one of the more interesting interviews I’ve done in awhile. We touched upon SLS, NASA, the bureaucracy, the failure of the federal government in all things, the Space Force, Trump and his real failures and successes, and most importantly, the fundamental necessity of Americans to stop asking the government to do things for them.
Even more entertaining, this was one of the rare times you can hear two guys from the New York metropolitan area having it out, both with loud brass New York accents.
Give it a listen.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Where do you press to play? I tried clicking on everything and nothing happens :-(
Lee S: Hm, interesting. When I go to the link the audio automatically starts. There is a audio control bar just below the image with my picture, the dead astronaut, and my name. Click on the play button on that and you should be able to listen.
additional:
(cuz’ I want to download the file and physically posses it, but haven’t gone-to-work too deeply yet, on it.)
-on my system (HP + Windows), the landing page displays and renders differently whether you are in Internet Explorer (11) or the Edge Browser. (I have the Chrome file on my machine but it’s not installed, so can’t speak to other browsers. And, yes, I still use IE-11, unless I have to use Edge for some functionality IE doesn’t have.)
–I get “xml errors,” from the player when I use IE, it will play for me in Edge, but only if I click on ‘play.’
–they are using “Dewplayer” V 2.1, it’s an embedded shockwave Flash-player for audio. (but that’s the extent of my knowledge on that, other than those particular files are a hassle to casually steal.)
–The player bar is very small, but it is present. (As Mr. Z specified) You are able to set “global preferences” for Flash within your browser, on MS systems, by right-clicking the player bar, but those generally won’t help with playback issues from my experience.)
–I use Internet Download Manager to auto-detect file types and download them, and while it’s like’ 98% effective in grabbing audio-/video files, the flash-files are always problematic for me.
-I’m hoping someone will upload the audio to YouTube, where I am able to casually download the file, and with zero inserted adverts.
Ahhhh… I’m browsing on an Android device… I will have to wait until next week when I don’t have my kids….( Hello, 1999 calling… Can I have my flash player back ;-) )
Lee–
can’t help ya with phones– my phone is, just-a-phone, (or it’s a 2-way radio, I haven’t decided yet) and I’m on hp/windows desktop system.
I’m no expert, but I’ve spent years acquiring audio/video files without paying for them.
I can generally casually steal audio/video files for every other format except those type of embedded flash-players, or if it’s behind an actual pay-wall. My download software however, doesn’t play well with anything contained within a “transport-stream” container.
These type of players don’t readily handle fast-forward either, so expect a playback delay if you skip ahead.
Bob,
You’re wasting your time with this loud mouth.
It appears “Dewplayer” V 2.1 has been replaced with “Muses Radio Play” V. 2.4.4 at the Face of Mars website, which is currently streaming an MP3 file. But I haven’t yet downloaded it all.
