Mann’s claim was made in his lawsuit against many of the climate skeptics who have been critical of him.

  • I’d be more impressed if someone told me they’d found a prize in a box of Crackerjacks than if they told me they’d won the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Not exactly. He called himself a member of an organization which won a Nobel prize (well half a Nobel prize) for climate studies. He was, it did. This isn’t in doubt. It isn’t even in doubt that he was one of the most important members.
