Paper ballot count puts establishment Democrat ahead of socialist in NYC primary

The count of paper ballots submitted during last week’s Democratic Party primary for Queens district attorney has put the establishment candidate Queens Borough President Melinda Katz ahead–by 20 votes–of Tiffany Cabán, the socialist endorsed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz is now leading lefty insurgent Tiffany Cabán in the Democratic primary for Queens district attorney — a stunning reversal of fortunes after the race went into a paper ballot count with Cabán ahead by more than 1,000 votes last week.

About 6,000 paper ballots remained to be counted, and as the Board of Elections tallied the final votes Wednesday night, Katz was leading Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-backed Cabán by a razor-thin 20 votes, two sources told The Post.

Both sides acknowledged the narrow margin would trigger a recount — but that didn’t stop Katz from declaring victory Wednesday night.

I find this story most amusing, as it reminds me of Minnesota and the recount of paper ballots that gave Democrat Al Franken his victory over Republican Norm Coleman in 2008. Many fishy things seemed to occur during that recount that has always made it suspicious.

Either way, it appears the Democratic establishment, having realized what a political disaster Ocasio-Cortez has been, did not want another such socialist representing them in New York and appears to have moved to make sure it didn’t happen. For example, there’s this story: Queens DA frontrunner Tiffany Cabán dedicates ‘victory’ to Rikers inmates

Rikers Island inmates are first in Tiffany Cabán’s heart.

“Our victory belongs to folks who have been locked up on Rikers simply because they could not afford their bails,” she said Saturday, days after early results showed her the likely winner of the Democratic primary for Queens district attorney.

Though politically this position by her, allied more with criminals than ordinary honest citizens, isn’t really much different than the bulk of today’s Democratic Party, her willingness to state those positions openly is why the establishment Democrats in Queens are desperate to stop her.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Its funny you went into the Rikers aspect of this story. Just yesterday I was speaking with a new customer who happens to be a long time Rikers official (I won’t say more than that) PS: He has had enough and is leaving. After hearing about what he did I suggested he watch the “Seattle is dying” video that I have posted previously. He was very interested, will watch it, and I look forward to his feed back which I will share.

Caban like all “Progressives” propose that the criminals be favored over the law abiding tax payer and law enforcement, resulting in homeless drug addicts and criminals living on the streets, committing crimes and causing general havoc and chaos. A situation that absolutely flips rational thought on its head. A signature of the now insane Left.

I went over the “Progressive” agenda that the Marxist DeBlasio administration has implemented regarding Rikers Island and the now 5000 inmates that it houses. He does it every day for many years, he compared the Juliani administration with the DeBlasio administration, a difference of night and day.

His comment? Bernie Kerick was hands down the best to serve under, knew what he was doing.

He told me of how the inmates will throw human waste at the officers and then run to be viewed and recorded by the video cameras with their hands in the air so as not to be “counter balanced” by the officers. It is a sickening situation, very much like the extreme Seattle condition that exists right now due to the “Progressive” agenda.

Lets be hopeful that the 20 votes holds, I also hope that someone is closely watching the ballots.

One more thing that he specifically brought up, the new policy of either no bail or an organization that will pay the bail for essentially what amounts to dangerous people being put back on the street. This is what Caban clearly favors.

Said he sees it everyday, accused rapists and violent individuals just being brought in one door and out the other in the same day. This is a very bad precedent to be setting under the “Compassion and fairness” banner. No one is able to now say who is dangerous and who is not. A real world threat to the every day citizen and their families, just like Sweden and other “Progressive” country’s.

    More insanity from the left.

The count difference is now down to 16 votes favoring Melinda Katz.

Another friend just sent me this:

This is a communication to the voters in the Bronx about the right to vote by a paper ballot in the mail and IMO is a clear direction for fraud to be perpetrated by the voters. And if you ask me this entire Covid event is either intended or has been shaped into an election day operation to overthrow Trump and further install the “Progressive” agenda specifically here in NYC and throughout the country. You want to call me paranoid? Go ahead, but that is exactly what this is shaping up into.

“When completing your ballot request, make sure to indicate “temporary illness” as the reason for requesting your ballot, even if you aren’t sick. ”

    Dear (Name removed for privacy),

I hope you are staying safe and healthy in these challenging times. While the COVID-19 epidemic is impacting every part of our lives, there’s one thing we can’t let it compromise – our right to vote! Thankfully, in order to make it easier to maintain social distancing and keep people out of harm’s way, every New Yorker has the right to request an absentee ballot for the June 23 Democratic Primary Election! There is still a primary election for Congress and it is important that you make your voice heard. So, you must request your ballot immediately and you can do so online. Ballot applications will be mailed this week.

When completing your ballot request, make sure to indicate “temporary illness” as the reason for requesting your ballot, even if you aren’t sick. This is simply the way the Board of Elections is classifying those who request a ballot due to the COVID-19 epidemic. You should receive your ballot around May 15 and you must mail your completed ballot no later than June 23. The Board of Elections will invalidate your ballot if it is postmarked any later than June 23 and if it is received later than June 30.

BOTTOM LINE: Request your ballot now and complete it and send it back as soon as you can!
If you have questions on requesting an absentee ballot, you can get answers from our team here (Removed):

Voting is important now more than ever as we make sure we have the strong leadership needed to continue guiding us through this crisis. Thank you for your participation in this critical election, and I hope you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe.

    Respectfully, Adriano Espaillat

Yup, that is exactly what it appears to be to me.

By any means necessary, means exactly that, BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. The mail in ballot is just the latest scam by the Democrat leadership to retain or reacquire their political power.
