The corporate fad to impose racial quotas appears to be fading fast

Coca-Cola's bigoted company policy
Examples of the bigoted educational material
being pushed by Coca-Cola

Here’s some good news to brighten your weekend: The corporate fad that became a steamroller after the death of George Floyd in 2020 to impose discriminatory racial quotas in hiring — all favoring minorities — now appears to be fading very quickly.

New analysis from employment data provider Live Data Technologies shows that chief diversity officers have been more vulnerable to layoffs than their human resources counterparts, experiencing 40% higher turnover. Their job searches are also taking longer.

…The number of [Chief Diversity Officer] searches is down 75% in the past year, says Jason Hanold, chief executive of Hanold Associates Executive Search, which works with Fortune 100 companies to recruit HR and DEI executives, among other roles.

The DEI movement not only demanded that companies hire more minorities, solely because of their race, it also tried to impose the anti-white hatred of critical race theory on all employees, as shown by the powerpoint presentations above that Coca-Cola foisted on its employees back in 2021. Since then the bad press as well as the crushing loss of customers who were offended deeply by these policies (think Bud Light, Gillette, and Target) has apparently hit home with corporate management.

The fight is not over however. Be warned that the leftists running this movement still have gigantic financial and political resources. One need only look to events in Congress yesterday, where Democrats at a hearing focused on the evils of censorship attempted to censor Robert Kennedy — who also happens to be a Democrat running against Joe Biden for president.

These thugs are still in power, and are getting increasingly brazen in how they abuse that power. If Americans let up their guard at this moment these thugs will move in fast to reimpose and even increase their power.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Not a surprise, silly outlandish ideological power trips don’t hold sway for long with the majority in societies where free speech and open debate are allowed.

Very much related: HOLLYWOOD: WARFARE: PARADIGM SHIFT

I just read this in Variety, and I think it is pretty comprehensive regarding the writers /actors strike on Hollywood:

    https://variety.com/2023/film/features/hollywood-chaos-strikes-movie-delays-pay-battles-a-i-anxiety-1235673080/#!

Variety: “Most of the cast, including Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, began booking flights out of Malta, presumably toward home, leaving behind a big-budget production that had employed more than 400 people.”

Me: *For a studio to commit to putting several big name star$ with their big name e$tablished ability to put eyeballs on a movie and dollars in the bank, and put a crew of 400 on a set for months at a time entails a tremendous degree of financial resources and risk. And the model for their product to be distributed due to technology is now being adjusted possibly out of their control and that makes them paranoid.

Variety: “The stakes are so high on summer films like “Dead Reckoning Part One,” “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” that Tom Cruise asked SAG-AFTRA to allow movie stars to continue promoting their new films, given the challenging theatrical landscape, sources say. The union countered by asking Cruise to join the picket lines, noting that having one of the world’s biggest movie stars visibly in its corner would send a strong message to the studios. Cruise was noncommittal, but offered to assist in other ways. Instead of granting any waivers, the union ultimately banned all of its members from doing promotional press on studio films.”

Me: *And at the same time the people who write, act, operate the cameras and the many other people who make the movies manifest cannot allow technology and the ability to scan their work product, image and or voices once and be owned in perpetuity by someone else and not be compensated for it. They as a group cannot at this point surrender to this next level A. I. technology that can potentially at some point credibly write some level of content as well as scan images and voices and make of them what they will. This new technology is truly a next level reality adjusting paradigm shift.

Variety: “At the same time, the ad market is in freefall, consumers are cutting the cable cord at a dizzying rate and launching streaming services has been enormously costly, forcing these companies to pack on billions of dollars in debt.”

Paradigm shift: Def: “An important change that happens when the usual way of thinking about or doing something is replaced by a new and different way.” This means war!

Why are wars fought? When a paradigm shift in power and control (and markets) becomes apparent when things in the real-world change in significant and existential ways then there will be warfare in order to establish a new balance and a new power and control (market) paradigm. There will be balance or their will be warfare. And warfare, whether it be hot or cold is what keeps countries and sovereign borders, business, politics and markets in a healthy state of balance and existence. Without balance and established markets through warfare if you will there cannot be peace and prosperity.

And this is true in both politics and in business and every other aspect of life and survival. Why has Russia invaded Ukraine? Russia desires a new paradigm / power and control model and way of doing things. The Ukraine (And America and NATO) disagrees. Same for the fight between the employers and the employees in the entertainment industry or any other industry.
    ———————

Where is this Hollywood strike going?

The paradigm shifting warfare to establish a new power and control model I.E. market in Hollywood has just begun and will have to rage on until a new tolerable to both sides balance is established. Expect it to be ruthless, very nasty and probably protracted? Time will tell that tale.

PS: There is nothing apparently more vicious than a “woke”, “politically correct” self-interested corporate billionaire executive / producer with corporate fiduciary responsibilities. And this existential fight within this “woke” industry whose entire population is primarily “woke”, is primarily “politically correct” and primarily “progressive” if you will and is primarily radically Left leaning and politically idealistic and who seeks through politics what can only be characterized as an authoritarian new world order compliance structure is highly ironic to me.

This industry wide adjustment should be instructive for all involved I wish them well in their financial warfare and march to find a new real world market balance. Stand by. JGL 7/22/23

Jeff Wright, I read an article a couple of weeks ago that said AI will have problems with liberalism because liberalism is not logical, scientific, or based on facts.

  • Cotour

    James S:

AI/ LIBERALISM / LIBERTARIANISM /WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

That would be the first logical thought about AI that one might assume. AI is about logic and Liberalism is about emotion and therefore A.I. is or should be in the end good. And if human beings were machines that might well be true. And that would of course be incorrect.

Liberalism in practice is more like Libertarianism in concept, and Libertarianism is associated with Conservatism and freedom. Sounds good because freedom is good. But both Liberalism and Libertarianism is really in practice about chaos.

Human beings are neither all about absolute logic nor are they all about absolute freedom.

A.I. is actually very authoritarian because logic is very authoritarian: A + B = C. And that is the way it must be done, or their will be consequences in order that logic be restored.

There is no nuance, no compassion and no room for human thought process and tolerance for experimentation or anything other than what is prescribed in A.I.

    * A.I. is counter to evolution and adaptation.

Humans are not successful because we are totally logical, human beings are successful because we are flexible and able to think outside the box and into the future and we adapt to almost any environment. And if we cannot adapt to an environment, we change the environment.

    https://journalofdemocracy.org/articles/the-road-to-digital-unfreedom-how-artificial-intelligence-is-reshaping-repression/#:~:text=Around%20the%20world%2C%20artificial-intelligence%20%28AI%29%20systems%20are%20showing,state%2C%20thereby%20accelerating%20a%20global%20resurgence%20of%20authoritarianism.

“Around the world, artificial-intelligence (AI) systems are showing their potential for abetting repressive regimes and upending the relationship between citizen and state, thereby accelerating a global resurgence of authoritarianism.”

Under a dominant A.I. paradigm, you will be structured, and you will comply. And that is why Liberalism is so closely associated with A.I., mandated structure and compliance to the max.

Beware, A. I. is fundamentally Marxist and Socialist in nature. JGL 7/23/23

In my anecdotal observations, this movement is just taking a breather. All it takes is another media driven flashpoint to gain up another round of Teams meetings with PowerPoint presentations alleging white privilege, unconscious bias, unsupported allegations of racism and the demand that all forced participants in the struggle session demand “to be held accountable” if they are not deemed “an ally”.

I work at a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company and our DEI head recently left without much fanfare. To paraphrase Joe Biden, well, sonuvab*ch, wouldn’t you know it, a few days later they were rehired to be the DEI director of one of the largest healthcare companies in the country. So now those fine people will be accused of rationing healthcare to minorities, responsible for high infant mortality rates in the black community using Ketanji Brown science, and all other manners and sorts of humiliation secure in the knowledge that if they are offended by slanderous, career limiting accusations that it is because of their “fragility”.

Be careful what you boycott. If the Icelandic Glacial division has not gone woke, then you may want to continue showing InBev that people support the normal divisions and products over the woke ones.

A few decades back, it was disclosed that a cigarette company also owned a popular food manufacturer (my recollection is that it was Phillip Morris and Kraft). However, if people boycotted Kraft, then Phillip Morris would not have a successful product to move into as it left the cigarette industry. Boycotters of Kraft were forcing Phillip Morris to rely more heavily on its cigarette sales rather than on its food products, giving it an unintended incentive.

Show these woke companies that it is the wokism that is the problem, that by not going woke, they won’t go broke.
