The new pogrom in New York

This story provides a thorough listing (including videos) of all the recent anti-Semitic attacks in the New York City metropolitan area in the past year.

Those attacks included the mass shooting in a Kosher supermarket in Jersey City (killing four), and the machete attack in a Rabbi’s home (injuring five).

It appears that the majority of the attackers are black, which likely also means they are Democrats, spurred by the irrational and bigoted identity politics of that party, that celebrates all minorities except those who happen to be considered either white or conservative in its eyes. They are also probably spurred by the generally hateful and emotional rhetoric of that party, which today bases its entire policy platform on hating Donald Trump and anyone who supports him.

Still, the people who should be punished for these attacks are the people who committed them. Sadly, in New York the Democratically-controlled legislature has changed the law so that these violent individuals now have an almost automatic “Get out of Jail” card.

Much of this violence is closely related to the violence we have seen on college campuses the past three years, all aimed at conservatives. It comes from the left, and it comes as an attempt to strike fear into people’s hearts so that they will no longer be willing to publicly express their opinions.

Sadly, I think it is working. I wonder how many of my readers have found themselves silencing themselves out of fear that expressing their opinion might get them ostracized. I would not be surprised if most have done so.

The ballot box however is private. You can express your opinion there quite safely. I think it is time to do so.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

    Fear? A little – maybe.
What it is inspiring is anger and return hatred.
Where that leads is open for direction.

Last night, New Years day, I ordered a load of sushi and had some people over and one of them is a new friend, a young lady who is about 35, and she is married, to another woman. She is gay and she and her partner are Liberal, as I would reasonably expect (Most of my friends are). I really enjoy spending time with them both. I had sent her my observations on the coming bail reform and the several attacks on the Jews, that I also posted here on BTB and that included specifically the woman who made an assault and was immediately released by the court. And then she did it again the next day and was again released. She now must have two tickets to see the Mets for free. Free Mets tickets if you remember are how mayor De Blasio intends to get these people to return for their court dates. (Not kidding)

There was a lot of explaining that these were complicated issues. (Not so complicated to me) I had also sent her my comments on the “Progressive” agenda and what I see as the underlying Leftist agenda that is ongoing. All of these 35 or somethings love the term “Progressive”, it sounds sooo positive and hopeful.

So last night I was speaking with her and reminded her of what I had sent and that the same violent woman immediately was released after again attacking a Jewish person. This violent woman has her chosen “special interest” group that she just does not like and she violently acts out against them when ever she apparently pleases. (I guess its just too bad Jews)

I pointed out that that violence could be against any special interest group, including hers, and I reminded her that she was gay. Her response? I was very interested in where she might take this question. Was she paying attention? “Well, Im not overtly gay” she replied. Oh boy, I quietly thought in my head.

I have begun a very measured political discussion that involves them both, the one more than the other, and the vast amount of half truths and partial political and historical knowledge and undeveloped logic that they appear to be basing their positions on is impressive, but I do see a glimmer of hope. They are young. But then I am an optimist. They are both very conscientious and hard working likable people.

I have also spoken to several Rikers guards who are customers, one is a 30 plus year veteran who I asked “who was the best commissioner you served under?” His reply without hesitation? “Bernie Kerick, he knew what he was doing”. “We had 20 thousand prisoners and we had less violence than we have today with 7 thousand”. He told me that because of what he sees first hand related to who is being released he is carrying now, where before he did not feel the need.

I spoke with another younger guard who I suggested that he watch “Seattle Is Dying” and let me know what he thought, and when I saw him again we would discuss it and the “Progressive” agenda and what was coming to NYS. He said he would and I saw him about a week ago and I asked him “Did you watch Seattle Is Dying”? He said he did, and he agreed, he said “That is exactly what is coming to New York. Its not good.”.

And both of these men are black.

2020 is going to be a very interesting year in our country for many reasons, have no doubt.

Thanks for the find Bob! If the victims had of been muslims, there would have been hell to pay.

This would not happen in Animas NM; but to happen in NY city where the Jewish population is high is bad. The dems do seem to turn a blind eye and yes, they let the perpetrators out without bail, if memory serves correct.

Of all the reasons people are leaving democrat controlled areas, fear and economics tops the list. As with any issue these days, they are complex, and it is only the sum of all reasons which truly explain.

At what point will the dems be held accountable? At the ballot box? No, because they will not accept a lose and will incite violence if they do not get their way. Maxine Waters is a very good example of bad politics.

  • Cotour wrote “Of all the reasons people are leaving democrat controlled areas, fear and economics tops the list.”

Yes, and those leaving very often voted for the policies that create fear and economic failing. Living on the receiving end of the California Diaspora, I see this frequently. It isn’t the politicians that need to be held accountable, it’s the people voting for them. And they seem to sense this. The last couple of years identifying as a Californian where I live is problematic. People have told me they have been advised by other Californians not to identify as such. I have seen people with Oregon plates flip off people in California-tagged cars just because. There’s a real backlash brewing. Californians are not generally welcome in the Northwest. They ruined their state; we’re not anxious for them to come ruin ours.

For myself, if asked, I will freely admit I voted for Donald Trump. Well, more like voted against Clinton, but Trump appears to like the country, something no Church-Progressive can say. Most Trump supporters are publically cowed, because in nearly every public space there’s someone making snarky comments about the President, and who needs that kind of abuse? Everybody wants to be liked.

But I have no obligation whatsoever to be nice to people who want to destroy Western society, the same society that is the zenith of human civilization. Free market economies under the rule of law have an impressive record of achievement. Progressive societies have an equally impressive record of failure. So if someone feels like Progressivism is a good idea, they have to explain themselves to me, not vice-versa.

  • Read the article at the second link (NY Post). I know Robert likes to keep the scene clean here, but what kind of malformed micro-witted mammalian mistake would think this is a good idea? I have noticed that government in New York City and San Francisco seems to have given up on ‘civilization’, and moved to lock up the criminal vote. This seems to indicate that the powers-that-be expect the scofflaw element to be enough of a minority to carry elections. A sure sign of a failed society.

In the 2005 movie ‘Serenity’, one of the characters mentions a ‘world without sin’. The concept of ‘sin’ implies individual responsibility and redemption. Neither has a place in Progressivism, so we move closer to a such a world.

Garbage culture tattooed street rats like this knucklehead in the article and street crapping psychos will be running things from now on in New York.

The police are not happy, and neither am I. But the mayor is happy, he is getting even with whitey. The “Progressives” are the most racist of them all.

We all get to sound off on our own triads, but the real issue is the dramatic increase in antisemitism.

Sometimes, people do not even realize they have that attitude and maybe, this is one reason it gets a pass. It never should.

  • Mitch S.

    Sadly no surprise.
NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio started his political career working for Mayor David Dinkins who’s term was marked by anti-semitic violence culminating in the Crown Heights riot. (That was when visiting Jewish student Yankel Rosenbaum was murdered – his murderer was acquitted. I suppose it was because the jury wanted to prove their liberal credentials).
It’s been de Blasio’s dream to return NYC to those pre-Giuliani “glory days” and he is succeeding (along with his other goal to enrich himself).

The question is will NYC voters wake up and save the city as they did when they elected Giuliani in the 90’s?
Back then my brother and his wife lived in Manhattan. When Giuliani ran for reelection I asked my brother’s wife, a dedicated liberal democrat, if she was voting for Giuliani’s opponent. When she replied that no, she was voting for Giuliani, I asked “But isn’t he a Republican?” she replied “Yeah, but I live here”.

Thanks Blair! We can laugh about it!
