Foreigner – Waiting For A Girl Like You
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Wayne:
Good choice for an introduction to Foreigner. The sax solo (Jr Wlaker) ranks with the drum break on Genesis’ ‘Something In The Air”.
‘Foreigner 4’, BTW, is so good, I’ve bought it several times as media has change; first on LP.
Foreigner puts on a great show and is absolutely one of the best concerts I have ever been to. So many classic hits.

Question:
Ref “Urgent”– isn’t there a missing beat in the refrain? I seem to recall that was an issue at the time.

Bob, here’s a link to two of our finest American performing talents. Hope you find it as adorable as I do. Thanks for the BTB, TARDIS-like space and time machine. You are the real Doctor Who. https://www.openculture.com/2021/04/watch-blondies-debbie-harry-duet-with-kermit-the-frog.html
Gus Panos: Thanks for the suggestion. In the future, if you (or anyone) wishes to suggest Evening Pauses, then don’t reveal it in the comments. Say simply that you wish to suggest something and I will contact you with guidelines on how to suggest it to me directly.
