Judeo-Christian tolerance vs Islamic tolerance
French Jesuits have published a collection of Charlie Hebdo anti-Catholic cartoons on their own website.
We have decided to put online [on our site] a few cartoons of Charlie Hebdo that relate to Catholicism. It is a sign of strength to be able to laugh at some traits of the institution to which we belong, because it is a way of saying that what we value is beyond always transient and imperfect forms. Humour regarding faith is a good antidote to fanaticism and a spirit of seriousness which tends to take everything literally.
We express our solidarity with our murdered brothers , the other victims, their families and friends.

Now available in hardback and paperback as well as ebook!
From the press release: In this ground-breaking new history of early America, historian Robert Zimmerman not only exposes the lie behind The New York Times 1619 Project that falsely claims slavery is central to the history of the United States, he also provides profound lessons about the nature of human societies, lessons important for Americans today as well as for all future settlers on Mars and elsewhere in space.
Conscious Choice: The origins of slavery in America and why it matters today and for our future in outer space, is a riveting page-turning story that documents how slavery slowly became pervasive in the southern British colonies of North America, colonies founded by a people and culture that not only did not allow slavery but in every way were hostile to the practice.
Conscious Choice does more however. In telling the tragic history of the Virginia colony and the rise of slavery there, Zimmerman lays out the proper path for creating healthy societies in places like the Moon and Mars.
“Zimmerman’s ground-breaking history provides every future generation the basic framework for establishing new societies on other worlds. We would be wise to heed what he says.” —Robert Zubrin, founder of founder of the Mars Society.

And here is the other side, the intellectual left Salon explains the assault on freedom of speech and how the Muslim community apparently was justified and driven to attack by these cartoons?

I could only read half of it, they really have a very different view, these are existentially dangerous people.
What is the problem here?

The government should advertise and have regular flights to a central mid East location to deliver anyone who feels the need to fight for the Jihad. The requirements should be that you surrender your passport and you renounce your citizenship. Everyone is fair game then and they are free to build what it is that they believe they are fighting for and they are not able to freely travel between the two civilizations.
I march, but I am aware of the confusion and hypocrisy of the situation.

In other words, we used to have Free Speech. But now only Gov’t approved speech is allowed.
What will tell the tale is how the French deal with this situation through passed law. Freedom of speech is not absolute, but short of yelling fire in a crowded theater it includes everything else, no matter who it may or may not
outrage or please.
We await your actions France.
From BSJ’s linked article: “Certain close strategic partners of the U.S. and Canada are actively and violently anti-free-speech.”
In addition to the examples of US and Canadian anti-free-speech laws and actions listed in the article: Mark Steyn had to defend himself in Canada over a charge that the free speech he exercised was banned (ban was overturned). The IRS recently harassed people who innocently tried to exercise their own free speech, even to the point of asking the DOJ to prosecute them for requesting tax exemption. Plus the US is trying to change laws and even the constitution so that the government can better regulate speech (because regulating light bulbs just isn’t invasive enough), and Robert points out that the harassment continues ( http://behindtheblack.com/behind-the-black/points-of-information/irs-harassment-of-conservatives-continues/ ).
Also from BSJ’s linked article: “And we will all be told not to worry: If you aren’t doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”
Just like the Tea Parties weren’t doing anything wrong when they asked for tax exemption.
These two countries are the examples of the free-est speech on the planet.
Oh, we are in such trouble.
