The bankruptcy of modern journalism.

The bankruptcy of modern journalism.

The story focuses on CBS’s Sharyl Attkisson, one of the few establishment reporters willing to do some hardnosed investigation of the Obama administration, and the rumors that say she might be dumped by CBS because of this. Key quote, from her:

“[The White House and Justice Department] will tell you that I’m the only reporter — as they told me — that is not reasonable,” Attkisson told Ingraham. “They say The Washington Post is reasonable, the L.A. Times is reasonable, The New York Times is reasonable, I’m the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I’m unfair and biased by pursuing it.”

Reporters should always be unreasonable when responding to the talking points of politicians. That so many establishment news outlets today try to be “reasonable” while condemning the few reporters who are tough tells us that this industry has been co-opted and is no longer trustworthy.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

In light of all of the spying being done on reporters these days, you think CBS would catch a clue a defend tbeir reporter from whitehouse intimidation.

If I were in her shoes & found out either my own organization or the WH (or BOTH…) were tampering with my computer files, it would only confirm my belief that there’s something to hide, and would only fire up my determination to get to the bottom of it even further. Stupid move on their part. But I long ago realized CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, the NYT, LA Times, WaPo & most other so-called “Mainstream” media outlets are hopelessly blinded by their institutionalized biases. What’s alarming is, it’s gone way beyond just not “seeing” what’s there – it’s now at the point where even when they do see the truth, they actively suppress it & threaten and intimidate anyone who tries to reveal it…

What is amazing about this situation is that all of the mainstream media outlets are losing audience and readership, largely because of this bias, and they do not seem to realize that if they actually did their jobs and justified their extravagant salaries, not only would they help to inform the citizens of this country, but they would also prosper. We have come to this juncture in American history where much of the media are worse than state-controlled apparatchiks, because they are not being forced to do what they do. They have abandoned their constitutional responsibilities voluntarily — willingly, even. Meanwhile, elsewhere on the planet, journalists are risking — and giving — their lives to report the truth. How much more despicable can these individuals be?

… much of the media are worse than state-controlled apparatchiks, because they are not being forced to do what they do. They have abandoned their constitutional responsibilities voluntarily — willingly, even.

EXACTLY – I’ve been saying for some time that the the propaganda put forth by the so-called “MSM” in this country is actually much WORSE than that put out by Tass, Pravda, etc. in the old Soviet days. I say this because, as you point out, those were Gov’t-run news agnecies, forced to say only positive things about their leadership. And Soviet citizens knew this – I’ve personally spoken to Soviet emigrants who said they knew most of what they got was propaganda. But in the U.S., there are large groups of people who have no idea their opinions are being manipulated by our supposedly “free, independent” media. That is extremely dangerous & alarming, because these media outlets will continue to indoctrinate the masses as long as they can get away with it.

Sharyl Attkisson is a bright light in an otherwise very dark cave, she has not forgotten her duty as a journalist is objective, to seek the truth!

Another tid bit on government agencies and the people who inhabit them abusing their power.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/10/sharyl-attkisson-federal-surveillance-097264

“One of those Attkisson is now accusing of directing the surveillance was little known at the time but was regular headline fodder in the past couple of years: Rod Rosenstein. He was the U.S. Attorney in Baltimore for 12 years and went on to serve as deputy attorney general under President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2019.”

Attikisson is an excellent reporter and without doubt was illegally spied on by the FBI. And the FBI has used every stalling tactic that exists to refute her allegations, and I am certain that her Rights without doubt have been violated, and that is a no no. All of these active and on going investigations against the government agencies and the people who have abused their power and surrendered their fiduciary responsibilities within them are connected and it reveals a long growing perverted culture of elite superiority and abuse of power that develops in any system where such oppressively great power of law enforcement exists. But at least in our system we have the tools and laws that can in time reveal these illegal activities and repair them as need be. Is it perfect? No, but its the best system bar none.

    (Don’t screw with your sanctuary)

Why? Because over time even though there may be certain rules and protocols developed to guard against such abuses of individuals civil capital “R” Rights it happens anyway. This is the nature of man related to governance and the abuse of power.

And this is what goes on in our country and we are for the most part transparent, you can not imagine what goes on in other country’s like China and Russia and just about any other country on the planet. There is no hiding place that it does not exist. And these are the country’s that many in our country hold as being superior and they want to emulate those Socialist and even Communist systems? Really?

So, in conclusion, the abuse of power within government agencies is alive and well and has existed from the start, it is not exclusive to only one party, and it must always be assumed rather than denied. Its the nature of the beast.

    B. MAHRE: ” WERE NOT ROOTING FOR FAILURE”

Here Liberal Media star and dedicated Trump hater Bill Mahre claims “Were not rooting for failure”. He said that recently on his show in reference to the Corona virus contagion and how if it were to get out of hand and really started to kill people in America how that would facilitate what the Democrat party has not thus far been able to accomplish related to the presidency of D.J. Trump, his weakening or destruction. Mahre nor the Democrat party leadership would never wish for such a harsh reality. Not even in their desperation? Not so.

    https://www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-maher-panel-gets-heated-over-trump-coronavirus-response-were-not-rooting-for-failure/

And then here Mahre is heard on his own show promoting and wishing for the destruction of the American financial markets with a severe recession in order to facilitate that long desired “Destruction” of Trump. Mahre is comfortable with millions losing their jobs and spiraling into financial oblivion in order to accomplish what the Democrats through their bankruptcy of American oriented agenda and thinking have been unable to accomplish.

Which is worse? https://youtu.be/Pmnr6F60eCU They seem equivalent to me. What about you? Mahre a two faced self serving politically biased Liberal fronting weasel? Sounds about right to me. (And yes, people say he looks like me :(

Mahre, would probably not lose his job or much of his wealth if he were to be forced out of his job. But he is desperate enough to have millions of Americans do so in order to accomplish what he wishes for and the Democrat party has been unable to accomplish, the destruction of president D.J.Trump. There are reasons why Trump is being so successful, and those reasons have left the Democrat party and its leadership long ago.

Most all media in America for the last 4 plus years has reported 94 percent or there abouts of the time in the negative about president Trump, that is just a fact. Sound reasonable to you? Not me. And that is due to their surrendering their fiduciary responsibilities as journalists and investigating and reporting the news in an objective more or less manner. Why is that? Because those in the media are unacceptably biased and aligned with the more Liberal and now even Left leaning among us and are crafting the news to serve THEIR subjective purposes in promoting THEIR political agenda which again is Liberal and Left leaning. And Trump through his actions has demonstrated that he stands solidly against THEIR un and anti American agendas and continues his “Winning!”. Bravo.

The American media in many ways has aligned with a political party and is actively working in their interests, that is called propaganda and that is unacceptable. The media in many instances has become in real terms the enemy of the people, they are no longer journalists but are now political operatives. Does that make you feel good about them? Not me.

And that is simply why all the media stands in opposition to Trump. So is it Trump that continually lies? Or is it the Liberal and now Leftist oriented media and the Democrat party leadership that constantly lies by necessity? You tell me, your watching all of this play out live right before your eyes, your not a dummy. Tell me what you see.
