Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Today’s blacklisted American: News staffers at CBS demand network blacklist Republican

CBS NEWS: Home of blacklisting

The new dark age of silencing: When the news division at CBS recently decided to hire Mick Mulvaney, a former Republican congressman and a former chief of staff for President Trump, there was a outraged revolt among the network’s news staff, demanding that the hiring be cancelled and that CBS blacklist all such partisan Republicans.

[Jeremy Barr, liberal Washington Post media reporter,] “obtained” a recording of a staff meeting led by CBS News co-president Neeraj Khemlani. Surely, the staffer recording this meeting was outraged that Khemlani said “getting access to both sides of the aisle is a priority because we know the Republicans are going to take over, most likely, in the midterms.”

Anonymous CBS News Democrats were alarmed “the network was jeopardizing its long history of journalistic excellence.” And you thought Dan Rather already did that.

“I know everyone I talked to today was embarrassed about the hiring,” said a CBS News employee who “spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment.” This is the most ridiculous use of anonymous sourcing – to protect liberals while they publicly campaign against their bosses.

Others who demanded this Republican be blackballed included Steven Colbert and Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan. You read a lot more outrage from the press here.

Though a superficial look at the criticisms could fool you into thinking that the protests were specifically against Mulvaney, one must note that we don’t see a comparable stream of outrage when a major media outlet hires an equally questionable Democrat, such as the recent story that MSNBC was planning to hire White House press secretary Jen Psaki. Though some questioned the hiring, overall the press seemed unbothered by the hiring. A similar lack of outrage occurred when ABC hired Bill Clinton’s campaign strategist George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos has always been a biased partisan news reporter, the kind that any legitimate news organization should hesitate giving an main anchor position. When ABC did this in 2002, there was little protest from the mainstream press corps, mainly because they like having Democratic Party advocates in powerful positions in the press. Makes it easier to justify their willingness to aggressively promote that party.

Routinely in recent years, the press working in mainstream media outlets have become completely intolerant of conservatives, and work hard to get them removed if hired, or blacklisted prior to hiring. The result has been a worse than useless mainstream press, now utterly devoted to campaigning for Democrats and their pet projects. The public gets no reasonable analysis on any issue, because there is no one left in these newsrooms allowed to question anything the Democrats propose or say.

Thus, if the Democrats begin slandering a reasonable state bill in Florida — designed to keep sexual matters out of classrooms for kids from kindergarten to the third grade — by falsely calling it a “Don’t Say Gay!” bill, the press immediately latches on, without ever actually reading the bill to find out what it actually does.

Meanwhile, the chorus of outrage and opposition whenever any Republican is considered for hiring continues to become more shrill and insistent. For the political desks of all mainstream media outlets, Republicans are increasingly blackballed, and forbidden work. The press thus becomes increasingly, day-by-day, a megaphone for the Democratic Party’s agenda, and nothing else.

Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

  • The blackball mob BELIEVES that the political divide is not Left vs. Right, but between themselves as Normal, and the Evil Other Who Has No Right To Be Heard. That is why the double standard exists.

They are the fanatics, that they decry.

Actions have consequences! He chose to associate with criminals and now has to recon with that. And his name is Mick, not Mike.

  • gmmay70

    Bobby,

To which criminals do you refer? I’ve certainly seen no more criminal activity from the Trump administration than I have his immediate predecessor, and certainly not from his successor. Or is this just some sort of partisan wankery?

  • Bobby Hill: Name corrected. Thank you.

  • sippin_bourbon

In Bobby Hill’s view, defeating Hilary Clinton in an election was a criminal act.

  • Bobby Hill

    Gmmay70, surely you jest!

Here’s a list of eight trump admin, campaign, or advisors that have been convicted:
    Roger Stone
    Paul Manafort
    Michael Cohen
    Michael Flynn
    Rick Gates
    George Nader
    George Papadopolous

And those are just the beginning. The real excitement with trump and his family is still gathering momentum. If you truly believe what you said, you’re sadly mistaken and quite possibly about to be very disappointed.

Please show me anything remotely close to that from either Obama or Biden.

Actually, there’s no need for the CBS Newsroom, they can just televise President Biden’s speeches along with Blinken’s pullbacks, and just run that as the news directly, and just put an occasional political add from the Democrats on in commercial breaks. It would cost something for technicians but even that probably could be avoided by just having it on as TikTok videos.
It would certainly increase profitability of CBS and the CEO could use the diminished expenses and increased bonuses for himself and increased share cost as well so he could cash out on selling shares, since CEO’s salaries are often linked to stock options.
Certainly I think the corporate board and CEO will look at this whole business about hiring a bunch of Democratic Party clones for the news room, give them some kind of early out option to clear out the cobwebs and dead wood and go to direct programming, TikTok, contractors, who as influencers have it all over the water cooler crowd and increase profitability while making the news exciting.

  • Col Beausabre

And what were they convicted of and what were the sentences?

  • Mark Kaulius

Bobby Hill….all most all of those you listed were ENTRAPPED by a corrupt FBI authorized by a corrupt DOJ pursuing a corrupt investigation launched on behalf of a corrupt political campaign organized by a criminal organization called the DNC and led by the chief criminal herself – Hillary “I suicided him” Clinton. Digest that news.

  • Cotour

    Bobby Hill:

“Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.” – Lavrentiy Beria”

(IMO it should read: Show me the man and I will find you the crime)

” Lavrenti Pavles dze Beria, IPA: [bɛriɑ]; English: /ˈbɛriə/; 29 March 1899 – 23 December 1953) was a Soviet politician of Georgian ethnicity, Marshal of the Soviet Union and state security administrator, chief of the Soviet security and secret police apparatus (NKVD) under Joseph Stalin during World War II, and promoted to deputy premier under Stalin from 1941. He later officially joined the Politburo in 1946.”

Figure it out. The nature of the political powers that be in politics is to protect and preserve their power and to destroy ANYTHING and anyone that is perceived as being a threat to that political power. What do you think those who you listed are a victim of? They were all persecuted in order to accomplish but one thing, destroy Trump and the pro American movement that surrounds him.

Trump was such a fundamental threat to the entrenched political power perversion and corruption that has festered in Washington DC that these people that you listed were made an example of in order to ward off anyone who would dare disrupt and potentially confront and overturn that perversion and corruption. Its about ideology and self preservation.

What is the nature of political power? What you have absorbed and expressed is but the narrative that has been pumped into the world via the perverted and corrupted Leftist driven and dominated Main Stream Media that back stops those in political power. And you have not bothered to think beyond that narrative. (Its called programming for a reason)

And if you are unable to see and understand that fact then you are lost. Politics is the filthiest and most corrupt game that human beings participate in.

In politics as in warfare there are no rules, and that is in fact what you are witnessing and experiencing. Please understand and know the difference.

And the only solution to this condition? The only hope? The Constitution which gives the people the power to change and adjust the political power in our country to over time forcing everyone in the political power game to reveal themselves for all to see. And that is why the media is so essential to all involved, and that is why it is so essential to control that narrative that you have absorbed.

Journalism: the activity or profession of writing for newspapers, magazines, or news websites or preparing news to be broadcast:

Unfortunately the definition of journalism does not mention the attempt at providing the public with some degree of objective truth. That is for you to find and know the difference between.

Not surprised, but it has been years since I watched the evening news on any network. How are they still in business?

  • Bobby Hill

Mark and Cotour, that’s some serious reaching for excuses to explain away their bad behaviour. You might be yoga masters with all that stretching.

Colonel, the info about their crimes and sentences is readily available. Obviously, some are more serious than others.

Stone, Manafort, Flynn, and Papadapoulis were even pardoned by Trump. I hope everyone knows that the Supreme Court ruled that accepting a pardon carries an acceptance of guilt. So even they have admitted to what they did. Hard to argue that’s entrapment or political intrigue. Its just bad people caught engaging in criminal conduct for the benefit of themselves and their allies.

  • Cotour

    BH:

“Stone, Manafort, Flynn, and Papadapoulis were even pardoned by Trump.”

That is called politics. What will you / everyone say when Joe Biden pardons his son and his brothers? Its politics. And there will be prices to be paid, consequences for actions taken.

All that these prosecutions were focused on by a clearly corrupted and or perverted FBI and DOJ leadership in pursuit of a political result were to take down Trump, period. You are conflating some degree of mistakes or missteps, criminal or otherwise by individuals with something that Trump did. Its wrong and it is dangerous.

I think you may need to think further about this issue before you. No stretching, no contortions, just objective thinking.

Blaming the FBI and DOJ for the actions of the criminals they pursue is some interesting mental gymnastics. I never said what they did implicated Trump, but those connections may be further established in the future. If you look back on how this thread started, we were talking about opposition to Mick Mulvaney getting a legitimate news job after his former gig with a less than reputable cast of characters in the Trump admin. It would appear that the folks in Trump’s orbit, be it in the campaign or administration, have an abnormally high propensity for being involved in or condoning illegal activities, so there’s some justification for people being opposed to giving a pass to folks like Mulvaney.

If some day, someone in Biden’s family is found guilty of criminal conduct, I think justice should be done. I’m not an apologist nor do I have some cult-like worship for him.

  • Milt

I believe that Jester Naybor has put his finger on most important element of all of this. That is, the all prevailing acceptance among many journalists today that defending the progressive left’s narrative about our society — and what needs to be done to promote and
amplify that worldview — obviates any obligation on their part to adhere to the old standards of objective, unbiased reporting.

This same mindset is reflected in the left’s abandonment of the First Amendment and freedom of speech*. In their minds, freedom of expression has gone from being a foundational principle of how free societies conduct themselves to a dangerous threat to the dominance of their chosen ideology. Or, as Cotour might say, they have adopted the Soviet model of what the press is supposed to “do” in such a society, and they seem to be entirely comfortable in that role. Just as the primary job of reporters in the Soviet Union (or today in Communist China) was to assist its residents in conforming to the dictates of an imposed communist system, our mainstream media and social media platforms must help Americans adjust to the new woke / reset reality here in this country.

*For those with access to Foreign Affairs, the March April issue contains an excellent, and entirely unexpected essay on the continuing utility / necessity of free speech in Western societies. That such an essay would be promoted by the Council on Foreign Relations
suggests that the scorched earth tactics of the Jacobin firebrands who are waging the ongoing culture war here in this country may not be sitting well even in the cloistered retreats of the Deep State Powers That Be.
    https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/world/2022-02-09/war-free-speech-censorship

That a free and open society cannot work without a functional Fourth Estate is probably not lost on anyone in power at CBS — they are, one imagines, hardly that stupid — and the destruction of traditional American society is precisely what they are about. Putting their fingers to the political winds, they of course realize that their side is likely to experience a “drubbing” in November, and they are casting about for ways to provide at least a veneer of objectivity to their efforts — a tame token conservative to provide the proper optics, etc.

If some of the dimmer animals at CBS don’t “get” this and are “outraged” by such a transparently cynical expedient, well, that shows just how thoroughly they have internalized their programming and drunk the Kool-Aid. Analogous to the newly created “Soviet Man” of Stalin’s day, they have become the new, infinitely pliable “Davos Men” of today, ready, wiling, and able to overturn the world in the name of their woke utopian creed.

  • Cotour

“It would appear that the folks in Trump’s orbit, be it in the campaign or administration, have an abnormally high propensity for being involved in or condoning illegal activities,”

    Your not getting it.

If the FBI or the DOJ were to look into you and your life, or anyone you might know, what might they find that might implicate you or them in some way shape or form in illegal activities? You might say “Nothing”, but again, you would be wrong.

If you are operating within the political world you will more than likely be able to be tagged with some form of offence or other that will be designed to taint them and those who they are politically associated with.

For instance, Hillary and her campaign, what did they institute? What came from their political activities in the 2016 election and the 2020 election? The Trump “Russia collusion” narrative. Have you heard of it?

The Mueller special counsel. And after $25 million dollars what did they find? NOTHING! But it tainted Trump and his organization in the eyes of the public. And that is the strategic element of the political game. Its all about the publics perception and who they are able to be compelled to vote for.

And there is no Trump worship ongoing here, Trump is a mixed bag for sure. We get over it. The politically empowered always transmit who they fear the most. And the person right now is Trump and what he brings to the table.

Strategy Over Morality, The Two Conversations:

(Understand this and understand what in fact is ongoing in our country, in politics and throughout history.)

EXPLANATION: Strategy Over Morality describes a two-tiered “conversation” between a Public and their Empowered Leadership where the Public believes there is only a single, no tiered conversation occurring and that single conversation is assumed by the Public to relate to the Public’s morality and truth model perspective.

A model in which leadership or their empowered subordinates within government can subjectively justify to choose to formulate an interpretation of their core fiduciary responsibilities which becomes paramount over and above the public’s truth and morality model. Where plausible deniability can be claimed when “immoral” acts or modified “truth” strategies (lies) are employed or executed by leadership, their subordinates or by arms length leadership proxies.

In this “conversation”, leadership in the empowered “Political Realm” or their empowered subordinates step “down” to the public’s level, the “Pedestrian Realm”, and presents information, agenda, policy or strategy in a tailored, palatable package the public can believe and comfortably accept. Leadership then steps back to their “higher” level, formulates and executes “necessary”, by their subjective standards, agenda, policy and strategy where the public’s interpretation of morality or truth is not relevant or becomes optional.

CONCLUSION: The public lives and operates under a subjective moral code or within a “Pedestrian Realm” perspective which they assume their leadership which exists within the “Political Realm” is constrained by. This is a subjective false perspective conclusion on the part of the public. Leadership at its existential core is not about morality, truth and honesty. Leadership is about the fundamental exercise of power and “its” survival.

  • Cotour

    Wayne:

If I were to guess when they apprehend this guy, he is a member of or associated in some manner with BLM or some other radical “Social Justice” associated organization.

This is but a taste of the future after the midterms IMO. The radical Left will not be giving up what progress they have made in the last 6 or so years. There will be a severe price to be paid, this is warfare.

    We wait.

  • milt

    As Cotour observes:

CONCLUSION: The public lives and operates under a subjective moral code or within a “Pedestrian Realm” perspective which they assume their leadership which exists within the “Political Realm” is constrained by. This is a subjective false perspective conclusion on the part of the public. Leadership at its existential core is not about morality, truth and honesty. Leadership is about the fundamental exercise of power and “its” survival*.

*Nor, I would add, is our present “leadership” much concerned with the welfare / survival of this nation or its legal residents. More likely, based on its actions in every area from open borders and the Covid lock-downs to deliberately crashing the value of the Dollar (particularly in its role as the world’s reserve currency), their actual purpose is paving the way for a Great Reset-based authoritarian,
one party state erected on the smoldering ruins of what used to be the American Republic.

Likewise, most of the press / media have thrown in their lot with the political class, and they have jettisoned any pretense of working within the Pedestrian Realm of ordinary civil society and the “rules” that used to obtain there. And as such, they are no longer “about” supporting any concept of morality, truth, and honesty. Not for a moment.

Again, without a free and functional Fourth Estate, it is hard to imagine how this country / culture / society will survive in the days to come, but this is the position in which we seem to find ourselves.

  • Cotour

    Or worse, “A domestic terrorists!”.

Remember I proposed that the midterm elections may not be able to take place due to…………………………”Domestic terrorism!”.

As the Democrats get more and more desperate they will go further and further in order to retain some measure of political power.

  • Bobby Hill

Cotour said: If the FBI or the DOJ were to look into you and your life, or anyone you might know, what might they find that might implicate you or them in some way shape or form in illegal activities? You might say “Nothing”, but again, you would be wrong.

Not relevant to the convo, but a fun aside. I’ve been through that, both for FBI employment and DoD security clearance. They talked to my family, all my friends, they found nothing.

    Cotour said: For instance, Hillary…

Why do so many folks on the right like the Clinton Bogeyman? As much as Hillary has been investigated, she was never charged. The Russia collusion was there, though not as explicit as the initial intelligence and news reports led people to believe. Its been established that the Trump team knew Russia was actively working to help them, and they were receptive to that assistance. And its untrue to say the Mueller report cleared team Trump when its actual conclusions indicated that there were likely chargeable offenses but Mueller’s opinion was that a sitting president could not be charged. That’s very different than an exoneration.

    Cotour said: Strategy Over Morality…

That’s all well and good as an attempt to understand why people do that, but hopefully we’re not using this as a justification for it. Let’s not rationalize a lack of morality and ethics.

Cotour said: Your not getting it.

Or maybe you’re reading too much into all of this and giving government folks too much credit. Maybe they’re not that sophisticated. Maybe the ideas and conspiracies around the dealings of government leaders are just that. They are well suited to movies and novels, but the real world is much more mundane. The people working there are not there because of exceptional intellect or qualifications, they are there due to exceptional opportunities.

  • Cotour

“Not relevant to the convo, but a fun aside. I’ve been through that, both for FBI employment and DoD security clearance. They talked to my family, all my friends, they found nothing.”

Its exactly relevant to this conversation. If they wanted you they would have you or at least they would have slowed you down with bureaucracy, one way or another. And you were being investigated for a Pedestrian Realm job within government. Its exactly relevant.

“Cotour said: For instance, Hillary…Why do so many folks on the right like the Clinton Bogeyman? As much as Hillary has been investigated, she was never charged. ”

For instance, What did you think when Comey laid out for 13 minutes why Hillary should be indicted…………………………..and he then concluded that she did not merit being indicted? (Or Justice Roberts who went on in his decision about Obama care how it was not Constitutional, and then concluded it was.)

Refresh your memory: James Comey Hillary no indictment speech: https://youtu.be/3NQQk1XXwgE

Also, review the Uranium One deal where the Clintons received $125 plus MILLION DOLLARS from the RUSSIANS in order to facilitate the deal. You really are not as well informed on these kinds of issue as you might be. Read what even the NYT’s had to say about the deal.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/cash-flowed-to-clinton-foundation-as-russians-pressed-for-control-of-uranium-company.html?msclkid=ffb1fef2ba9911ec9456ca58aad37628

There are two conversations going on here, the Political Realm conversation, and the Pedestrian Realm conversation. Two different realities. You IMO are too closely immersed in your Pedestrian Realm reality. I know it is difficult.

“Or maybe you’re reading too much into all of this and giving government folks too much credit. Maybe they’re not that sophisticated.”

No, no I am not. Or maybe they like the high level agency leadership government jobs they have and the power that they wield that has the effect of law and do not want to be that person that steps out of the Political Realm and apply Pedestrian Realm reality to those who are under their scrutiny? And lose it.

The Pedestrian realm is a black and white, good and bad just and unjust reality. The Political Realm if you have not noticed is a more gray and amorphous reality. Have you heard of the Hunter Biden Computer from Hell? Because if you have not you are about to, and then perhaps you will better see and understand?

You forgot this one: There has never been any court that found any wrong doing in the 2020 presidential election. Thats the latest one used to defuse the opposition. And that too will be changing soon enough.

No, its you and how you are interpreting it all, not me.

  • Edward

    Bobby Hill,
You wrote: “Mark and Cotour, that’s some serious reaching for excuses to explain away their bad behaviour.

Really? The FBI was just caught entrapping some innocents in Michigan in order to sway the election by making Trump supporters look bad right before the election. Trump was “impeached” twice with charges that arrived at the Senate “bereft of evidence,” as the Democrat senators complained (yet they were willing to vote “guilty” despite the obvious innocence, looking much like the trial in To Kill A Mockingbird). Flynn was set up, as even the FBI admitted. The other cases were similar. These were not criminals that the FBI pursued but innocents that they tried to make look guilty. It is why you, Bobby, cannot present any evidence of their guilt, only that they were accused or convicted — it is called a technicality, they are innocent people who are only technically guilty of things they did not do, and we all know it (even you, because you just aren’t that stupid).

It is partisan people like you, Bobby, who make it easy for the government to take sides in politics, the side that you prefer, which makes the government evil, and you and most of journalism in this country start going down the path of evil by following their lead. The Kool-Aid™ may taste good, but it is not good for you or for the country.

Your whining does not make the accusations true, but the facts have proved them false. In today’s America, Obama’s America, we have seen innocent people (often set up by the very policing forces they pay taxes to protect them) sent to trial without evidence against them, unfairly convicted, and unfairly treated even after they were belatedly proved innocent. We have also seen the FBI list multiple felonies for people but then declare that these guilty people not be tried, much less convicted. Obama’s America is not a nation of laws, in which everyone is treated fairly and according to the law, but a nation of men, where the Democratic Party’s friends are rewarded and enemies punished. Obama, himself, decreed it should be so.

Thus, we live in a cancel culture in which the Democratic Party’s enemies are blacklisted, falsely convicted, or worse and The Party’s friends get away with felonies, corruption, and worse. What an irony that the party that has destroyed democracy in America calls itself democratic.

The fantasy world that you live in is quite nice, isn’t it? Too bad that you are unable to handle reality, which your comments here continually show to us.

  • Cotour

    Yes, its him, not me.

  • Bobby Hill

You guys are too much! Your projection is astounding. So many assumptions about me and my beliefs. I’ve never indicated my preference to either political party. And, I’ve been very careful to not speak to my experiences or qualifications so as not to appear to be trying to be speaking from any authority. Y’all are entertaining.

  • Cotour

I have said nothing about what your politics might or might not be, not one word.

The Pedestrian Realm perspective reality includes both the Left and the Right.

As does the Political Realm perspective.

  • Edward

    Bobby Hill,
You wrote: “I’ve never indicated my preference to either political party. And, I’ve been very careful to not speak to my experiences or qualifications so as not to appear to be trying to be speaking from any authority.

Actually, you have indicated preference to political philosophy, you just don’t realize it. And. No, you haven’t been as careful as you think. Every comment you make says far more about you than you realize. It doesn’t take rocket scientists to figure you out, but we just happen to be some.

You may not belong to the Democratic Party, but you have indicated that you are following them down that paved path to hell. It would be entertaining if it weren’t so sad.

Not quite as sad, though, is your use of the word “projection.” I do not think it means what you think it means. From your previous conversations with us, your use of the word “astounding” fall under the same category.

Also sad, you probably do not realize that you have admitted to losing your argument.

    Bobby Hill.

    Michael Flynn was not convicted.
    He withdrew his plea.
And the charges were to be dropped.
An activist judge took it upon him self to try to continue to be both prosecutor and judge.
The Judge was ordered to dismiss the case (writ of mandamus) by an appellate court.
He then tried to fight that order too.
The pardon made his efforts moot.

  • sippin_bourbon

    Bobby Hill
“The supreme court ruled that acceptance of a pardon carries acceptance of guilt”.

Not exactly. This was part of the dicta (a non-binding comment made by a court or judge in passing) in Burdick v US.
It is not a finding of law, and has never, since written in 1915, been used as such.

The question has never been revisited by the court, depsite there have been many question raised on the topic, as pardons have been issued to those who were wrongly convicted to start with. If the executive recognizes a wrong conviction, and grants the pardon, then, according to this statement from Burdick, the now freed individual accepts guilt.

  • sippin_bourbon

    Continued:
I hit the wrong key and posted too soon.

A lower court has revisited the question. The 10th US Circuit court issued a ruling that would appear to directly contradict Burdick.
In the case of a pardoned US military officer, he ruled that the accepted pardon could not be used as acceptance of guilt, and that no court since 1915 has adopted that premise.

“If the Court had meant to impute other, legal consequences to the acceptance of a presidential pardon, it surely would have said so explicitly” – Senior US Circuit Judge David Ebel. He was joined by two other Judges.

The Court concluded Lorance’s acceptance of the pardon did not have the legal effect of a confession of guilt and did not constitute a waiver of his habeas rights.

So while SCOTUS has not revisited the question, there exists recent case law, with a precise finding, that counters this comment in Burdick

On the actual topic of black listing, closely associated with de-platforming and cancel culture, I caught the Joe Rogan show where he talks with Daryl Davis and Bill Ottman (show#1792, 3/15).

If you are not familiar with Mr Davis, his work at communicating with Klan members and the results that lead to several hang up their hoods is incredible and inspiring.

The main portion of the program discussed how we need more discussion, not less, and how the big tech censorship, de-platforming, cancel culture etc, is more damaging then anything else, and we need the opposite if we are going to move forward.

It is one of Rogan’s shorter shows, a little less than 2 hours. I do not agree with everything Rogan or his guest always say, but this was a great discussion, worth listing to, if you have time, or a long drive.

And here is one of the most telling tells on the subject of how the media has been running cover for the Liberal Leftist agenda being promoted by the Democrats :

“Far-Left Russian Collusion Hoaxer Rachel Maddow Announces She Will Only Be Doing Her MSNBC Show One Night a Week”

Her, destroy Trump at all costs narrative job is done. Especially as the reality about what was actually true and what was made up will begin to pour out into the world.

“A Judge Rules Rachel Maddow is a Fake News Fabulist and Not a Journalist”

By any means necessary means by any means.

Oh and Bobby, you also listed George Nader.
He plead guilty to funneling 3.5 million to orgs supporting Hilary in the 2016 election.

He met with Mueller to see if the UAE had been trying to influence Trump, through him. That clearly resulted nothing, as no one ever talks about the great UAE scandal.

He was playing both side to enrich himself. He is a scumbag, but other than being in meetings, he had little influence in the Trump admin.

  • The blackball mob BELIEVES that the political divide is not Left vs. Right, but between themselves as Normal, and the Evil Other Who Has No Right To Be Heard.

Bobby, you are the poster person for this … you see the world inside your bubble, as a government employee in a social technocracy, as Normal … assuming that serious questioning, let alone dissent, is illegitimate and therefore a sign of evil. Which is also why you keep coming back here (perhaps in fear?) to put our host in his place for daring to engage in such “evil”.

And, I’ve been very careful to not speak to my experiences or qualifications so as not to appear to be trying to be speaking from any authority.

That is because, from what I see, you consider yourself as lacking the standing to challenge those raised up in society as “authority”, instead relying on the construct of appeal to authority to justify your criticisms. Your passive-aggressive deflections of criticism of you do not help make your case, either.

You might be more credible if you could articulate why you support what you support, with independent thought instead of appeal to authority,

The people working there are not there because of exceptional intellect or qualifications, they are there due to exceptional opportunities.

Opportunities to promote today’s flavor of the “common good”, without regard to whether it is actually good for at least some of the individuals affected by that promotion. Your trust in the status quo in your bubble appears to blind you to that consideration … even though the government you have worked for was established specifically to secure the rights of the individual.

Not to mention that civil-service laws shield those “opportunities” from the accountability we in the private sector (where they expect results!) every day … accountability that is a direct and timely feedback mechanism for error correction. Nice work, if you can get it …

I find this statement to be very insightful, prescient and timely.

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.”

    IS IT JUST ME?

Is it just me or is there a theme and a pattern ongoing here in 2022 as the Left hurtles toward being out of power for the next 10 years? How might they strike out and further install their now planet wide agenda and mandate?

4/13/22: Massive fire torches under-construction hotel in California
4/10/22: San Jose Firefighters Search for Cause of Massive Fire That Gutted Home Depot Store
3/21/22: Walmart fire at Plainfield fulfillment center: What we know about massive 1.2 million sq feet Indiana blaze

Is this what this appears to be, the burning to the ground of large, big corporate business projects, an enviro radical Left “Social Justice” activism activity?

But I have heard no one propose it, we wait.

    Remember, by any means necessary.

  • sippin_bourbon

I hear and read a lot of commentary about a predicted wave election as well.

However, I have also seen where the left can, at the drop of a hat, mobilize the media/big tech social media at the drop of a hat.

Sometime mid to late summer, they will push the go button. The main stream media, working so hard to rebuild their credibility by pretending to be middle of the road with some recent stories (like the admissions about a certain laptop), are simply prepping the battle space. They want you to know that people can trust them again. And there will be people that fall for it.

There will be an event. A mass shooting or a police shooting (events where facts don’t matter), or maybe a small rise is COVID (events where facts can be stretched) or even some manufactured event that we have not considered. They will push the go button, and you will see the press push it. Contradictory thoughts will be banned as hate speech or dis-info on all big tech platforms.

I have faith that there is nothing they will stoop to to maintain power. Normally they save these big pushes for Presidential elections, but they are already sounding the call that losing THIS election is a threat to democracy. With a President that is feeble minded, most of their control right now is on Capital Hill.

If you suddenly see a few big names get purged from some platforms, you will know it is coming. My humble, and yes very cynical, prediction.

The MSM can only be effective in an environment of uncertainty. Uncertainty about the future and uncertainty about what they and the Left intend for the country. And that is now better understood by the Pedestrian Realm inhabitants. And it aint pretty.

Unfortunately for them, and I am not underestimating their resolve, they over the last two years have been stripped bare and there is a real resistance to what is plainly to many their own fraud and lies and insane counter intuitive “In the future you will own nothing, and you will be happy” agendas.

The numbers are revealing this, and that is why they must implement something other than what they currently have at their disposal.

If a midterm election takes place and it is somewhat honest the Democrats will be decimated.

And in order for them to retain some measure of political power they will have to go off the normal political game board in order to accomplish that.

    So, buckle up.

And what is going on in Canada? Which apparently is now a full-blown fascist country.

Trudeau will require a license in order to report the news. And I assume in order to communicate over the internet you will also be required to have a license?
