My February birthday fund-raising campaign for this website, Behind the Black, is now over. Despite a relatively weak initial three weeks, the last week was spectacular, making this campaign the second best ever.

Thanks to every person who donated or subscribed. It continues to astonish me that people who can read my work for free like it enough to donate money voluntarily. Words cannot express my appreciation for that support, especially in these uncertain times.

If you have been a regular reader and a fan of my work and have not yet donated or subscribed, please consider doing so. I take no ads, I keep the website clean from pop-ups and annoying demands (most of the time). Thus, I depend entirely on my readers to support me. Though this means I am sacrificing some income, it also means that I remain entirely independent from outside pressure. By depending solely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, no one can threaten me with censorship. You don't like what I write, you can simply go elsewhere.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation:

4. A Paypal subscription:

5. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Today’s blacklisted American: Amazon employees demand company blackball everyone who disagrees with them

The apparent goal of Amazon's woke employees
The apparent goal of Amazon’s woke employees

Persecution is now cool! Hundreds of Amazon employees have apparently signed a company-wide open letter demanding that the company immediately blacklist everyone who is anti-abortion while also blackballing every state that passes anti-abortion laws.

“As part of Amazon’s wide-reaching efforts toward a more inclusive and diverse workforce, we believe that Amazon cannot let this recent decision go unanswered,” the letter said. “We ask Amazon, the world’s best employer, to actively defend against this assault on our liberty.”

Among other actions, the authors are requesting that Amazon “allow employees of all genders the space and time to grieve, express their frustrations, and protest against this assault on our rights.” In addition, they want the company to “donate and match donations to bail funds” to help “women and pregnant people” seeking abortions in states with protections for pre-born babies.

It also demanded Amazon organize pro-abortion protests and donate money to the political organizations the letter signatories endorse.

Essentially, the letter calls for Amazon to focus its business entirely on leftwing political action rather than its central purpose of providing retail products to its customers. That such actions will cost the company money and possibly harm its profit line apparently does not matter to these employees.

The letter however went much farther. The cropped image from the letter below shows this:

Amazon letter demanding blacklists
Click for full letter.
I have underlined in red the pertinent text. These Amazon employees want the company to ban any products produced by any company or individual who expresses any opinions they disagree with. Only those who agree with them will be allowed to sell products on Amazon. If you are against abortion to prison you will go!

These employees also want Amazon to move its business operations entirely from any state that apparently puts any limits on abortions, in any manner whatsoever. As noted at the link, “Though Democrat-run California boasts more than 170,000 Amazon employees, Republican-run states Texas and Florida have 95,000 and 59,000 Amazon employees, respectively.” To do as these Amazonsocial justice warriors insist will not only cost Amazon a lot of money and involve a lot of financial risk, it would put thousands out of work.

The point of this story is not to argue the pros or cons of abortion. That subject will now rightly be debated and determined by the elected representatives in the fifty state legislatures across the country.

My point is to illustrate the authoritarian and oppressive mindset of the leftist pro-abortion crowd. They don’t wish to debate anyone. You disagree with them, and they demand the power to destroy you. Period.

Considering that they favor almost blindly the right to murder the preborn, it makes one wonder what they would do if they had more power. Such certainty in the face of a very uncertain and difficult political issue can only lead to violence, hate, and murder, especially if your position is arguing for a certain level of violence to begin with.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

If I was Amazon’s CEO, I would inform these people that if they disagree with the way the business is run, they are free to leave and set up up their own company/companies. Anyone who decides to remain is expected to devote their time at work to cheerfully performing their job and not politicking – internally or externally – on company time. Failure to do so will be grounds for termination. And oh, by the way, since you obviously weren’t performing your job while organizing this, if you decide to remain employed by us, you will be under scrutiny to make sure it is not repeated. Any backsliding will result in you being immediately being terminated and escorted off the property.

As I have felt for decades, this “stakeholder” business is #$*^%% ! You want a say in how the company is run, buy stock and get elected to the board. Otherwise, shut up.

One person who writes a letter to the company does not represent anyone but themselves.

The letter salad people need to quit trying to make it look like the majority agrees with them by these deceptive tactics. If the majority agreed with them then obviously they would get all they wanted without problems.

Amazon needs to take a neutral stance like all publicly traded companies.

It doesn’t matter what a bunch of employees say. They’re just useful idiots who will suffer like all of us under totalitarianism.

What matters is the elitists who run the company. The left smartly goes through great effort to make sure they control all positions of power and influence through out the country. They make sure all our institutions are corrupted.

In this case we only need look at Dr. Evil himself.

  • pzatchok

Amazon can not take a dive like Disney has.

Personally I have only used them once in my life and that was too much.

I want companies that offer women the time and money to get an abortion to be taken to court under some equality reason. Why can’t men get the same treatment?

Whats good for the gander is good for the goose.

At least make them spend time in court explaining themselves.

    From the DailyWire article:

“As part of Amazon’s wide-reaching efforts toward a more inclusive and diverse workforce, we believe that Amazon cannot let this recent decision go unanswered,” the letter said.

Robert wrote: “These Amazon employees want the company to ban any products produced by any company or individual who expresses any opinions they disagree with. Only those who agree with them will be allowed to sell products on Amazon.

How can they be inclusive and diverse if they don’t ban anyone who disagrees with them? Bans are the very essence of inclusivity and diversity, as in “we don’t want your kind here.”

My point is to illustrate the authoritarian and oppressive mindset of the leftist pro-abortion crowd. They don’t wish to debate anyone.

Of course they don’t want to debate. They are axiomatically correct. Debate is unnecessary. Anyone who disagrees is wrong by definition, and thus it is acceptable to exclude them in the name of homogeneity.

Considering that they favor almost blindly the right to murder the preborn, …

By show of hands, how many wish their mothers had had abortions? That’s what I thought. So why is it OK for other mothers to have abortions, and don’t you think their children would also have preferred that they had not done so?

By show of hands, how many are willing to lose their jobs in support of abortion?

The Democratic Party was founded in order to prevent liberty for slaves, and now that they lost that battle they are preventing the right to life for children. What is next for them, removing the right to the pursuit of happiness?

Oh, wait. With all these bans, cancellations, and blacklisting, they are already working on that last one.

  • Col Beausabre: Beat me to it!

There was a new coffee house in Portland next to the stadium. One of the local alternative papers interviewed the owner, and it was all about using profits to activate social justice, pay people a living wage, and so on. Not once in a lengthy interview were the business (profit) aspects mentioned. Like, what are you offering, do you offer any discounts on game days, and so forth.

    You know what happened.

    Edward observed:

“Of course they don’t want to debate. They are axiomatically correct. Debate is unnecessary. Anyone who disagrees is wrong by definition, and thus it is acceptable to exclude them in the name of homogeneity.”

Not seeing a lot of people moving to China, though. Guess that’s because they’d have to live as the serfs they imagine themselves to lord over.

Bezos will roll over. No spine. Actually, there are times I wish I had been aborted. My adopted Mom had miscarried-my bio-mum tossed me to go to D.C. so I heard. It should have been the other way around.

  • Col Beausabre

“allow employees of all genders the space and time to grieve,”

Hey, what about those of us who want to celebrate? Equal treatment, here!

“express their frustrations, and protest against this assault on our rights.”

You mean like attacks on the Second Amendment? I want to express my frustrations and protest on company time! And by the way the right to keep and bear arms, unlike the so called “right” to abortion, is explicitly part of the Constitution.

    Its all related:

WHY THE LIES? SIMPLE, POLITICS, AGENDA AND POWER (Copy and share with someone who is confused about politics)

Peggy Noonan sums up the entire Jan 6th “Bi partisan” “Investigation” in to the “Seditious riot” and the attempt for the Trump MAGA movement to take over the government of the United States. (And that concept, that picture is what the Democrats are attempting to sell here to America. And if you were wondering it was the guy with the horns that was going to run everything in government if the conspiracy was successful :)

Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal: “The Courage of Jan. 6 Witness Cassidy Hutchinson She showed more guts than any of Trump’s men. Her testimony strengthens the case for prosecution.”

And it is now coming out that this now key witness, Cassidy Hutchinson apparently lied under oath about some key elements of her testimony!

“Hutchinson has been caught providing numerous lies under oath but nothing will happen to her. Each day we have identified more and more lies. She claimed the President tried to take over the driving of the car he was in. The Secret Service said she was lying before she finished.”

Why do these soldiers in the political warfare that now rages in America do what they do? There are no rules in warfare, there is Strategy, and there is using the publics Morality against them.

Why did Anita Hill attempt to make Clarance Thomas a sexual predator? (No other woman ever corroborated her story with similar behavior of Thomas). Why did Christien Balssey Ford (Psychological problems IMO) attempt to make Bret Kavanaugh a teen drunk abuser of a young Christein? (No one in any way corroborated her testimony, and her lawyer stated how she was committed to deny Kavanaugh his spot on the court because he was a Conservative and could possibly overturn Roe V Wade.) And now we have Cassidy Hutchinson accusing President Trump of erratic and seditious behavior. ALL second and third hand, AND the Secret Service has already stated that these things did not take place and are willing to testify to such. But you will NEVER see that coming out at the TV set that is the Congressional “Investigation”. WHY?

Because Conservatives on the Supreme Court and in politics is the greatest threat to the Liberal now Leftist / Socialist movement in America and the world. Plain and simple.

In the political warfare that the Constitution structures the soldiers who do such things are down for the cause of the Left and they understand that NOTHING in the form of legal action will be taken against them, they are hero’s! Just like the individual that leaked the Supreme Court Roe V Wade upset opinion. And although they have violated all conventions of their very high level job they understand that if found out, and I am fairly certain that their identity is now known, NOTHING OF ANY CONSEQUENCE WILL HAPPEN TO THEM. As a matter of fact they understand that a segment of the population will see them as hero’s and they will be held on high, praised and rewarded.

Liz Cheny, the Dark Lords daughter, think about that for one moment, hugs her “Star” probably very well coached witness”.

Well Done Cassidy, you will be rewarded greatly. You did what had to be done, Trump and his MAGA movement must never again gain political power.

    Strategy Over Morality.

EVERYONE DIES IN A POLITCALLY CORRECT (D) WORLD

And I will throw this in today because it a good laugh, but it’s not funny:

A full grown 29-year-old *MAN* competes against 13 year old girls, and calls it all good :)

Another “Jackie Robinson”: https://youtu.be/hGoAoEvCht4 “Were all at the same skill level, Jerry”.

The Left is unable to either define what a woman is and they can not tell when they are in fact oppressing and abusing young girls.

Where is the Feminists among them and why are they not outraged? Because its all a BS “Politically Correct” Leftist (D) scam designed to destroy all rational thinking and replace with “Politically Correct”, “Equity” and “Equality” intellectualized reality.

Everyone dies in a “Politically Correct” (D) world.

    Bank on that.

Col Beausabee says that he would inform employees that they are free to leave the company if they disagree with the way the business is being run. I would take it further. I would compile that list of signees and begin thinning the herd. These people have demonstrated an intolerance for differing opinions. With or without company buy-in, they will begin working in accordance with their own beliefs, regardless of the damage their actions may have on the business. They are foxes inside the henhouse, and cannot be trusted to keep Amazon interests ahead of their own political beliefs.

  • Jay

You would think the workers look at their company as a country with those demands. #9 on their list is quite a demand. So will this ban extend to Amazon’s AWS (Amazon Web Services) subsidiary that handles their server farms that are in many red states with cheap electricity? Will they pull out of those states?
Even though Blue Origin is a separate company, will they adopt the same measures and pull out of Texas and Alabama?

Amazon will do no such thing. They will say one thing and but it will be business as usual. They can’t afford a loss in sales, cheap electricity, and profits.
