The very predictable Democratic playbook against Paul Ryan:

The very predictable Democratic playbook against Paul Ryan:

In the national media narrative – perhaps best illustrated by the shorthand of Jay Leno’s monologue, which presumes that the audience has the barest-bone familiarity with national figures – every Republican figure is reduced to one of three things: Old, stupid, or evil.

George H.W. Bush: Old. Dan Quayle: Stupid. Newt Gingrich: Evil. Pat Buchanan: Evil. Bob Dole: Old. George W. Bush: Stupid. Dick Cheney: Old and evil. John McCain: Old. Sarah Palin: Stupid. ,,,

Because Paul Ryan isn’t old, we will see an effort to paint him as either stupid or evil. You and I know that painting Paul Ryan as stupid is like trying to paint Bill Clinton as chaste. But we have also witnessed the rapid definition of an unknown Republican figure four years ago, and we know that right now, every Democratic official, commentator, talking head, and more than a few reporters awaken this morning with a new mission in life: define Paul Ryan. [emphasis in the original]

In other words, substance be damned, the Democrats have got to find an ad hominem attack that will allow them to dismiss everything Ryan says, even if it makes sense.

For this reason alone I think it justified to fire every Democrat from elected office. Until we can get a reasoned debate on the federal government’s out-of-control debt, it will be impossible to fix the problem. And it is very clear that the Democrats are not willing to have that reasoned debate.

“Are they prepared to listen to reasoned arguments articulated by Ryan about the need for entitlement reform, or will they succumb to simplistic liberal cant about pushing grandma over the cliff?”

The choice of the electorate in November: “Are they prepared to listen to reasoned arguments articulated by Ryan about the need for entitlement reform, or will they succumb to simplistic liberal cant about pushing grandma over the cliff?”

Sadly, at this moment in the campaign we don’t know what the electorate will do. What we do know is that the Democrats are going to use some of the most absurd, hateful, and despicable attacks against both Romney and Ryan, as they did in 2008 against Sarah Palin and have so far against Romney. It is their idea of civility.

Democratic Congressman Peter Stark (D-California) reportedly threatened the family of another California politician after learning that politician was endorsing Stark’s primary opponent.

Leftwing civility: Democratic Congressman Peter Stark (D-California) reportedly threatened the family and livelihood of another California politician after learning that politician was endorsing Stark’s primary opponent.

But the conversation quickly got ugly, as the Congressman launched into a bitter and angry diatribe. “(Stark) called me a turncoat and said, ‘Are you sick?’” Torrico recalled. “He was yelling and yelling….he kept going and going. He asked me if I was mentally well.” The furious [Stark] then added, “Maybe I should send a social worker to your house. Your kids need to be safe. You’re not well,” a horrified Torrico recalled.

Read the whole article. It is appalling if true, which is likely because it is consistent with Stark’s past behavior.

An Obama-backed Muslim Group is now blaming Congresswoman Michell Bachmann for Sikh shooting this past weekend.

The civility of the left and Islam team up! An Obama-backed Muslim Group is now blaming Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) for the Sikh shooting this past weekend.

What did Bachmann do? She raised questions the Obama administration’s links with Islamic terrorists groups. And of course, that must obviously explain why a white-supremacist went on a rampage killing innocent Sikh worshipers in Wisconsin.

A New Hampshire businessman who appeared in a Romney ad has gone to the police to report the phone threats he has since received.

Leftwing civility: A New Hampshire businessman who appeared in a Romney ad criticizing Obama has asked the police to investigate the phone threats he has since received.

One [call] called him a “vile piece of (expletive),” among other things, and demanded he call Obama to apologize. The caller was identified by Gilchrist through his caller ID. The man called from area code 630, which is the Chicago area. He has posted anti-Republican and anti-conservative messages on Twitter in the past, including a 2009 posts that said, “GOP needs to be eliminated,” and, “I am prepared to kill people. Let the tea bagers fire the first shot and I will pile up the bodies of the traitors.” [emphasis mine]

Shortly after the peace order against him was partially stayed — restoring his right to criticize leftwing activist and convicted bomber Brett Kimberlin — blogger Aaron Walker and his family were SWAT-ted, whereby a crank call triggered a SWAT team attack on his home.

Leftwing civility: Shortly after the peace order against him was stayed — restoring his right to criticize leftwing activist and convicted bomber Brett Kimberlin — blogger Aaron Walker and his family were SWAT-ted, whereby a crank call triggered a SWAT team attack on his home.

Another right wing blogger has had the police called to his house because of a fake report of a shooting at his house.

Leftwing civility? Another right wing blogger has had the police arrive at his house because of a false report of a shooting.

The intention of the false report is to cause a SWAT team to descend on the house, guns blazing. In this case this fortunately did not happen.

We don’t know yet who made the false report, but the MO is identical to the previous events that appeared to have been instigated because the conservative blogger had written about leftwing activist Brett Kimberlin’s criminal past.

The campaign of political terrorism by the left.

The campaign of political terrorism by the left.

In this post you will hear that audio clip. You will also read about a months-long campaign of harassment carried out by at least three individuals: Ron Brynaert, Neal Rauhauser, and Brett Kimberlin — much of it directed at critics of Brett Kimberlin. This harassment includes repeated references to critics’ family members, workplace complaints, publication of personal information such as home addresses and pictures of residences, bogus allegations of criminal activity, whisper campaigns, frivolous legal actions, and frivolous State Bar complaints.

And finally, you will hear a comparison of one of those men’s voices to that of the man who made the call that sent police to my home. And you’ll read a declaration from a forensic audio expert comparing those two voices.

The phone call falsely claimed that the blogger had shot his wife, causing a swat team to descend on the blogger’s home with their guns raised. As he noted, “When I opened the door, deputies pointed guns at me and ordered me to put my hands in the air. I had a cell phone in my hand. Fortunately, they did not mistake it for a gun.”

That these leftwing thugs are from the left is only relevant in that too many members of the left excuse this kind of behavior. Bad behavior is bad behavior, no matter what one’s political beliefs. These individuals should be shunned by the left, and prosecuted if they commit illegal acts that threaten the lives of their opponents.

The Democrats and the President publicly target a private citizen, merely for supporting Romney.

Building that enemies list: The Democrats and the President publicly target private citizens, merely for supporting Romney.

Three weeks ago, an Obama campaign website, “Keeping GOP Honest,” took the extraordinary step of publicly naming and assailing eight private citizens backing Mr. Romney. Titled “Behind the curtain: a brief history of Romney’s donors,” the post accused the eight of being “wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable records.”

One of those eight, CEO Frank VanderSloot of Melaleuca Inc., was described by the Obama campaign

as being “litigious, combative and a bitter foe of the gay rights movement.” About a week after that post, a man named Michael Wolf contacted the Bonneville County Courthouse in Idaho Falls in search of court records regarding Mr. VanderSloot. Specifically, Mr. Wolf wanted all the documents dealing with Mr. VanderSloot’s divorces, as well as a case involving a dispute with a former Melaleuca employee.

And it appears that Michael Wolf has ties to the Democratic Party and the Obama campaign.

Ah, civility! (as defined by Obama and the left.)
